LIFETIME Subscription to FANGORIA Magazine

I just came across this interesting offer from Fangoria.

It would take you about 7.5 years before you started getting issues for free. About 4 years if you buy from magazine stands.

That's actually not a bad deal if you feel confident in the future of print media.

If it included digital copies of all past issues, I'd consider it.

Sounds like Fangoria should be belly up before the end of next year.

$400? Yeah right... you'd have to really love the 'zine to waste that kind of money and expect a return years later. It would be far safer to just continue with yearly subscriptions.

I love paper magazines, but many are sadly starting to go the way of the dinosaurs.

My last subscription was only $33.00. To be fair though I've subscribed to the magazine since 1981 so a deal like this would have paid off long ago.

As someone who has worked in the literary business, the future of all print magazines is seriously grim.
Pity as I still like perusing issues of Fangoria, Rue Morgue and Horrorhound once in awhile.

The last Fangoria I bought was in 2006. The one with Slither on the cover.

I used to love them as a kid but they cost too much these days for me to give a damn.

That's a huge problem which discourages me from buying more.

No kidding! I picked up the "Giant Size Halloween Special" issue with Roger Corman on the cover and the price had gone up to $10.99! And that issue was no bigger than any other Fangoria issue - it actually felt thinner than most (lower quality paper stock?) If that's the regular new price then that lifetime special offer would pay off even sooner than expected.

When did Fangoria's price get so high anyway? Rue Morgue used to be the most expensive but I assumed that was because it was "imported" from Canada. HorrorHound is a veritable bargain at $6.99 an issue.
