Saw this in the theater when it played on a double bill with Godzilla Vs Megalon. I own the DVD but not sure if I'll bother with an upgrade.

Huh, I thought Retromedia had this? Or did that finally lapse? It seemed like Fred Olen Ray locked up the distribution for quite awhile.

Still... I'd hold off on buying the release until I've seen some reviews. VCI's not the most reliable, and neither is Rebane. So I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if we a repeat of something like the Deadly Spawn fiasco which wasn't even as good as an upconverted DVD!

I think Fred Olen Ray got into a lawsuit with Bill Rebane about the deal. There were some legal issues anyway, so I'm not surprised that Retromedia doesn't have it now.

Agreed about VCI though, their release quality has definitely been inconsistent. The specs sound good, but it wouldn't shock me if the Blu-ray turned out to be an upconvert or something.

Looking at that list of extras, I feel like they're going to do a good job on this one. After all, they gave us the stunning Dark Night Of The Scarecrow blu-ray, so they are capable of great work.

I'll probably pick this one up, but have to admit it's pretty low on my hi-def wants from their catalog. I'd be much more excited about blu-rays of Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, Satan's Cheerleaders, Ruby, The Demon, etc.

A CSPWDT blu-ray would be a "must buy" for me. C'mon VCI!!
