The Purge 2: Anarchy

I found the original Purge to be one of the more disappointing horror films of last year. But, I think there is a lot that can be done with the premise, and from what it looks like the people involved are looking to capitalize on this interesting, dystopian universe.

I agree with you 100%. I love the premise of The Purge, but found the movie to be only ok. Hopefully this can step it up a notch.

Just saw the trailer. Dumbest, fuckin', lookin' thing I've seen in some time.

Of course the car would stop in the middle of the fuckin' city. Of course you won't get it started again in time. OF COURSE a bunch of freaks in pretentious masks and costumes run out like they're choreographed dance troupes. Because that's how criminals work. The brand of criminals in such badass, not at all doofy, flicks like Dead End Drive-In and Back to the Future Part II.

I'm shaking. I'm really shaking.

The first did nothing for me, hardly worth a rental. I'll skip this.

I am one of the few that really liked the first film and this film looks to deliver what I was hoping to see once I heard the premise of the first film. Looks like a lot of fun!

The official full length trailer has been released. It seems like there will be multiple subplots, which makes me nervous, and I think they gave away too much of the film itself.

Ah that teaser trailer is glorious:

- Fun poppy song to open the trailer up to show that the lead characters are a happy young couple.

- Car breaks down randomly

- Inception horns

- Dubstep

- Kooky villains with masks like in The Strangers and You're Next (plus other media like the video game Payday and even WWE)

Should be amazing.

I watched the first half of the more recent trailer and it already looks a lot more entertaining than the first movie. I'd rent it.

Although the latest trailer is more compelling than the previous one, I'm still feeling luke warm about this. Looks too Hunger Games-esque.

Caught up to this one over the weekend and really enjoyed it. I thought it was at least as good and the first which I also enjoyed.I like the direction they took it.

I liked this one too. It's been a great week horror viewing. Houses October Built, Town That Dreaded Sundown and now Purge Anarchy. I liked the first one a lot and I think this one is even better. It reminded me quite a bit of the video game Manhunt. If you liked that game, you'll most likely get into this.

This movie is dumber than a bag of rocks, but damn if that dude Frank Grillo didn't make it entertaining! To fully enjoy it, I think you need to be completely shitfaced, stoned, and/or retarded.
