Exorcist - I know I've brought this up elsewhere, but I just never felt it was scary. Effects and acting are excellent, but I never felt that invested in Reagan to worried for her and she/Pazuzu didn't really seem to pose much of a threat to anyone else other than suffering from elevated heating bills and having to have the carpet cleaned on a regular basis.

Silence of the Lambs - I have a lot of issues with this one. The homophobia/misogyny always rubbed me the wrong way. I never felt Lecter was any scarier than a Vincent Price character.

Wes Craven - other than the two Elm Street movies he directed, I really haven't liked any of his films. I get the importance of Last House and will say that it is significantly better than I remember. But parts are pretty badly made and it's still not as powerful as Virgin Spring or even Night Train Murders.

Friday the 13th - Jason X is the only one of these that I have even remotely enjoyed.

I agree that The Hills Have Eye's 1 and 2 are complete rubbish. They are just rubbish. The remake of the original is light years better than either those two.

While I don't hate Scream I find it very overrated. Plus they all feel the same to me.

As for overrated directors I think Tobe Hooper is far more worse than Craven. There's only a small handful of his films that I like/enjoy. Craven does have some pretty shit titles under his belt too though.

I haven't seen any of the Paranormal Activities (though I suspect I won't like them, though I did enjoy Insidious).

Put me down too for not liking:
Drag me to Hell
Phantasm - I could just never get into any of these.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre I don't hate it, and I appreciate its historic importance to horror cinema, but I feel it is slightly overrated as a film itself. The last half of the movie is just running and screaming, not to mention some torture aspects at the dinner table which I'm not a fan of. I know it's kind of its point, but it becomes really grating after a while.

Hills Have Eyes - The remake is far superior in every way.

Candyman - Need to give this another viewing, but don't remember being overly impressed.

May - Again need to give it another viewing, but I remember it being just okay, and I don't feel it deserves all the hype it gets. I remember the lead being extremely awkward and annoying.

Ginger Snaps - I hated this film when I first watched it, but really enjoyed it on my second viewing, so maybe this doesn't belong on here, but I do feel as good as it is, it is still very over hyped.

Don't Torture a Duckling - I need to give this another viewing as I'm sure the lack of Fulci's over the top gore threw me off, but I remember being kind of bored with this one, and I am a fan of most giallos.

Halloween 4 - Not a bad movie at all, but definitely not as good a slasher as many seem to think it is. Gimme part 5 over this any day.

I can't get into "FREAKS". I also can't stand the Hammer flick "DIE, DIE MY DARLING" - I just hate those types of films.

I find the 1973 version of the Wicker Man very annoying . I also didnt enjoy Paranormal Activity. The main characters deserved to be haunted.

Apropos:

April Fool's Day. I have no idea why it gets the love it does or why, given its ending, it's classified as a horror film. It's a comedy, right,
Spoiler:
because it's all a prank?

Bleh. Waste of time.

April Fools Day is one of my favorite slashers regardless of the end (though I always found it to be a good twist). I'm still hoping they uncover the original ending and release a blu in the near future. One can dream..

Yea The Omen is pretty hit and miss for me. I remember enjoying the third film though.
