Feelin' bad for Jason...........

I just came from seeing Blade 2 (which kicked fucking ass IMHO) and before the flick they had a trailer for Jason X. I thought the acting looked horrible and some scenes looked a bit hokey (which is OK since I'm a HUGE F13th fan), but after the trailer was over the whole goddamn theater started to LAUGH. Everyone thought that the trailer must have been a joke. It was such a sad moment. My girlfriend laughed at me too since she knows how much I want to see that movie and she thought it looked so stupid. I have a bad feeling when this hits the theater circuit, the box office could be less than satisfactory. That means we can kiss Jason vs. Freddy goodbye.........

They could have avoided all that if they didn't use that trendy Drowning Pool shit some call "a song" in the background, and hype the Robo-Jason as the whole part of the movie. It's the end, and really brought th emovie down, and they only showed a quick part of it, people would probably like it more.

Unhappy

jason is not doing too good these days, other than the cool toys.

I mean, we will never get to see his movies uncut on dvd, and that jason vs freddy movie may never get done.

bad acting and trendy brainless marketing guys are not helping matters at all for the new one.

Question is it a bird ?. Is it a plane ?.

I guess Jason is considered just an old fart by some , in this brave new world. Honestly, who would've thought we'd one day be feeling sorry for an insane old backwoods serial killer in a hockey mask ?. I may not agree with those who laugh (I laugh at them !), but I can see why some would say he's a joke though. I mean, is he supposed to be alive, a ghost, or a zombie, or even a robot (huh !?) now ?. For his own sake I sometimes wish he'd stay dead and buried, and leave us with the memories .

They were probally laughing more because of all this high tech look of the trailer. The explosions, techno music, in space, accompanying a killer that used to live in the woods at Crystal Lake? To me, it looks just as good as all these other "thrilling roller coaster ride" movies that I think are all shit. Im 26. Am I just getting old, or do most of the teenagers also find this annoying? But then most teenagers are annoying too (except the ones at this site ) and I guess they were just made for each other and can bask in their annoyingness!

I think there being no Freddy vs. Jason might not be so bad. I mean I love Freddy and Jason and all those guys, Except Michael, I never got into Halloween. But how could it possibly work? Does Freddy start stalking Jason in his dreams? I don't think anybody could pull it off now. Maybe back in the 80's - best decade ever, by the way - but now the studio cocksmokers would probably want it PG-13, they'd chop it to shit and make it really goofy and jokey.
Anyway, I'm looking foward to Jason X, but that Uber Jason, or whatever the fuck they're calling it, is so ridiculous looking to me.
It looks like a bullet proof vest bodysuit with grey plastic pieces from some little kids toy glued to it. The hockey mask is classic, you don't mess with a classic. Especially if you make it worse than it was.

Freddy vs Jason would have to be awful. there is no way that they could make either of them win, they would probly end up teaming up against something or someone or something lame. i just coudlnt see the studios having one win over the other, that was always my big problem with this idea.

True. One of the pieces of hype I always heard was that they'd film different endings with both guys winning & then, as a gimmick, you'd get a random ending at the theatre. Personally, I'd go for that.

I also saw the Jason X trailer & Blade 2 & lots of people were laughing out loud. I dunno, I think it could do well; cross your fingers.

I feel bad for Jason also. The crowd at the theatre I went to were also in hysterics. Man, It almost brought a fucking tear to my eye. That whole "Let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the floor" crap wasn't helping matters either. Except maybe for those gum smacking teenies out there. Some of these people today man, straight made out of plastic I tell ya. I almost kinda felt embarrassed for Jason too. As if he was my homeboy or something. God bless you Jason. We still love ya buddy!

Hmmmm.......kinda hard to feel sorry for a series that hasn't strayed from its formula once in the past 20+ years.......don't get me wrong...I loved Jason as an icon in the earlier installments (2-4), which were nice popcorn flicks back in the day........but the whole series was painfully by-the-numbers and each installment just got progressively worse. There were so many angles that the series could have taken....but never did...........

Well, I was one of those people who laughed uproariously at the Jason X trailer, but (and forgive me if wrong) I think that was the point.

I know most of the people here hate to have their horror crossed with comedy, but I'm okay with that mix...on occasion. Eight Legged Freaks jumps immediately to mind. Obviously, that movie isn't going to take itself too seriously and it looks to be a blast.

That's exactly how I read the Jason X trailer. It looks almost to be a satire of slasher sequels. I mean, come on! A group of teenagers, in space, dig up an "entity" on a distant planet and it turns out to be Jason Vorhees?! It's obvious that the filmmakers are going for something other than your run of the mill slasher flick here. Sure, it's going to be hard to pull off, but I for one am glad they are trying something different.

Frankly, that trailer makes me want to see this movie. And it will be the first F13th movie in many a moon that I will pay to see in a theater.

"It's okay. He just wanted his machette back!" That line kills me! Genius!

Goddamn you people take life too fucking seriously!
The trailer is supposed to be funny. I've seen Jason X and the movie has some funny moments. All Friday the 13th movies have some humerous moments. This isn't "Seven" or "Silence of the Lambs" people, it's a Friday the 13th movie.
