Thumbs up Anchor Bay's Fulci Collection

DVDFile has the release date for Anchor Bay's Lucio Fulci Collection. (I searched for a thread on this, couldn't find anything on it)

On 6/11 Anchor Bay will also release three new Lucio Fulco Collection 2-packs: The Beyond / House By the Cemetery, New York Ripper / Manhattan Baby, and City of the Living Dead / Don't Torture a Duckling. Each 2-pack includes the same discs already released individually, with a 2-pack price of $39.95 each.

I think it's a great deal for folks like me who haven't bought these movies yet.

The only question is, where do you put them in your collection?

go here for the official Anchor Bay 'COming Attractions' site http://www.anchorbayentertainment.co...ngattractions/

I noticed these today, i most certainly will be picking up collections #2 and #3, as i just bought The Beyond tin and wont be worth me getting another copy in collection 1.

ahhhhhhhh!!!!

I actually bought a good chunk of my Argento stuff in these "Limited Edition" 2-packs. the value is excellent but that leads to another problem...

since I'm basically obsessive-compulsive and have my DVDs sorted by date of release, it becomes a BIG problem when I have two movies in the same case released years apart, and no place to put them on my rack.

I know, I'm pretty sad when stuff like this bugs me out.

btw: anybody know where to get affordable, reliable DVD shelves or racks that hold many DVDs? I've been using the Wal-Mart wooden DVD racks... I currently have two of them and am out of room once again. should I buy another, or try something else?

I have all 6 dvds already, in the case of the Argento's even though I had the two Demons ones I still bought the 2 pack so I'd have all three set. Is Anchor Bay taking advantage of us obsessive compusive people? I love Fulci, but think I will pass on this set, unless somebody could give me a good reason to buy them?

My god, I thought I was the only person who felt the same way about the collector packs...I hate the fact that I can't have all my dvds in order.

About the Fulci packs, who is actually going to buy them? If you a Fulci fan, chances are good that you purchased them already....think about the Beyond tin, if this had actually sold a decent amount, do you think you could pick up the tin for $12.99 at Best Buy? I have to think that the collector pack is not going to be a big seller....just my thoughts on the subject.

I am a huge Fulci fan, but as many have already said, I already own all of these DVD's and don't see any need to buy them again.

HAHA. I bet I got the same ones! I get the black wooden shelved furniture from Wal Mart. I love it, it works great for DVD's and is cheap as all hell too.

I have the same problem. I have a 6 foot one that has 6 shelves and a smaller one with 3 shelves and they are both full. I'm gonna go ahead and get another 6 footer. That should hold for the next couple months.

I am a Fulci-fan and the only one I own is The Beyond (not even the tin). My problem is lack of funds and these puppies have been going for way to much dineros for my wallet. Now that they'll be available in two's for about $30 on-line I can finally pick them up without going completely broke. But I don't know too many Fulci-fans that find themselves in similair situations so I tend to agree that they won't sell too many copies.

Why doesn't Anchor Bay just lower the prices of the existing discs to $20 instead of these $40 two-packs.

I already have one disc out of each of the 2-packs, so they hardly do me any good.

Really, shouldn't Anchor Bay start dropping the prices of some of their older discs? The old Argento, Fulci, and Hammer discs are $30, while the newer Hammer and Giallo discs have $20 prices.

Well, I'll be in line to buy 'em! I only have the cheapy Diamond versions of The Beyond...or should I say Seven Doors Of Death and House By the Cemetary (for shame...tsk, tsk). At the time I didn't have the 'mullah' for the AB DVDs. I guess my patience...or should I say BROKENESS, will pay off! DDD had the Argento 2 packs for $24 flat (I bought all 3 through them)! I'm hoping they'll do the same for these!!! If so....that would be downright "poifect"!

Question well....

....at least the covers don't look like those cheesy hack jobs that looked like they were done in MS Paint on the Argento covers. but at least I don't need to look at that Deep Red cover now everytime I want to watch it or Tenebrae.

I think AB is improving with their cover art. at least now it looks appealing and appropriate... (standard edition of Suspiria aside). I mean, the box for the "Theatrical Cut" of Dawn Of The Dead was just... I don't know what the hell it was, but it wasn't good! =) but then again, as I've said before, I'm a minimalist in cover art design anyway.

I've actually never seen any Fulci stuff besides The Beyond, Zombie and House By The Cemetery. since I already have Beyond, #1 is out and I'll have to buy HBTC by itself. are the others worth it?

It's safe to say that this bites my fucking ass . I have The Beyond, NYR, HBTC, and COTLD. Well maybe not, the only one I really want is Duckling. But wouldn't it make sense to put The Black Cat and Manhattan Baby together? They came out at the same time and are both $25 MSRP (I think). Whatever I guess.

I HIGHLY recommend COTLD if you haven't got it yet. Almost as good as, if not on par with The Beyond for sheer enjoyment value. As a film though, it's even better. I love it. HBTC is great too, just not up to the previous films' standard. I didn't like NYR much, but that seems to be an opinion I'm alone in.
