Thumbs up

Let me add my thumbs up to Alice, Sweet Alice.

Surprising moments of subtle (and not so subtle) humor, and several violent surprises make this a favorite of mine. I picked it up at Suncoast for $9.99; went back two weeks later and it was marked $25, though.

Alice Sweet Alice...

Caught this film on the UK's Film Four Extreme channel around 6 months ago. Although I enjoyed the movie, I don't know if I'd watch it again. Still, for the bargain price of $5 (Australian), it's a keeper!

White Zombie is an eerie atmospheric first feature about the Haitian undead, with Lugosi giving his best performance other than Dracula. A rarely screened treat that is well worth the purchase if you're interested in early cinema, file alongside your Universal Classic Monsters.

My Walmart has Alice Sweet Alice, Macabre, Evil Dead, ED II, Army Of Darkness, Halloween 4 & 5 Dawn Of The Dead and a couple more in VHS format for $3.33! I'm suprised to see half those movies even being sold at a Walmart...let alone for $3.33.
