Question about the Nightmare on Elm St. DVDs...

Are the famous deleted scenes from the first film on the Bonus DVD? And, does anyone know if the Bonus DVD is also on the R2 Collection?

And if no to both questions: does anyone know where to get those deleted scenes?

there are no deleted scenes from any of the films on the bonus DVD. THe bonus disk is not included in the UK set, which aslo misses the 6 & 7th films (this is due to rights issues).

The deleted scenes from the first film are on the old Laserdisk release from Elite. I hope somebody will put them onto DVD-R one day.

Beware that 1 & 5 are censored, with no sign of uncut prints being released. EiV, the shit-as-shit-gets distributor of the UK set (where the films were passed uncut), couldn't be arsed to re-master uncut editions. THerefore, the pre-existing UK VHS releases are uncut, whereas the DVDs are butchered. Fucking Stinks.

Actually, if you search for a while on the Nightmare Encylopedia, you can find some deleted scenes and an alt. ending for NOES. It just takes a lot of work to find what you're looking for. Great disc to smoke a bowl to and fuck with for hours.

Aside from the 2 alternate endings from the first film,there are ZERO deleted scenes.
None from 1,none from 4,none of the 15 some odd minutes cut from Freddy's dead that make it watchable.None.
No "making of"'s,no commentaries on 2-6.No unrated part 5.

Where are the deleted scenes from part 4 and Dead? Do the laserdiscs have em, or anywhere online? Or are they just on bootleg tapes?
I have the LD of the first movie just cuz it has a ton of shit not on the dvd set. If it's the same with all the sequels then I might dust off the ld player.

You can buy the FD workprint on the net.Shit quality,but it'ssomething.The scenes from 4 haven't made it to the public in any form.

No,but the the half-assed mystery is a little less obvious.The movie is more watchable than the home video/DVD version.

i'm glad they left out the Birthday bit, as if Kruger had a daughter she'd be a lot older than 28. That was a continuity glitch on the writer's part.

I still wish I could get my hands on the FREDDY'S NIGHTMARES as well. Living in the UK, I've only seen the 18 episodes they released on vidoe here.

Well, deleted scenes or no deleted scenes, I just finished watching the entire series (except for no. 5 which I can't find anywhere here in Iceland).

And one thing struck me as a bit odd. Why is Freddy's Dead so despised? I actually thought it was better than most of the sequels - much better than no. 2 and 4.

Apart from the awful last 20 minutes or so, Mike DeLuca's crap about the three "dream spirits", and some highly questionable background info on Freddy, I found the film to be the most entertaining and the scariest of all the sequels (New Nightmare not included). Lisa Zane is very good in the starring role, the first scenes in Springwood are extremely creepy and I found myself loving Rachel Talalay's nutty camerawork.

There are flaws, though. The ones I mentioned + Freddy as a witch and crap like that. But flaws aside, I really dug Freddy's Dead.

And is it just me or is Mike DeLuca cursed or something? His two feature film screenplays, Freddy's Dead and In the Mouth of Madness, are both films that start off extremely well and then degenerate into abysmal crap during the last act.

The reason i hate it it is because it's such a shitty way to "Supposedly" end such a great series.It's also nowhere near as fun as 4,the most fun of the series.

FREDDY'S DEAD is the only one in the series I still haven't watched. Atleast I think I saw 5, but in my mind 4 and 5 are the same. But maybe I'll check out FD someday soon.
