Go ahead and buy them, they are pretty cheap now anyways. No mention of a rerelease yet.

I got my double-disc set from Media Play for $8.99, not bad at all for a pair of pretty cool Eurohorror flicks.

They are also at suncoast along with other anchor bay titles like Alice Sweet Alice and others for only $9.99. It has an ok video transfer but I thought the sound was kinda poor but for the price go for it. It's better than almost all Diamond releases.

I bought the Blind Dead double feature DVD -- I thought it was pretty well done for such a low price. Those movies are a lot of fun. Plus, I haven't seen either on video in a while.

I read somewhere that both movies on the AB release are missing footage.
Does anyone really know if this is the case? I mean I liked the movies but I thought Return... was kinda bloodless. |

iin the case of RETURN, there are 2 different cuts of the moive, the most notable difference bing the placement of the flashback footage to the Templar's killing the girlsacrifice.
As far as I know, there's nothing missnig form either (unless it's censored somewhere), but it does mean that the AB DVD may be different from verisons people have seen before. doesn't mean it's missing footage in the same way many other AB disks are. I'd approach it caustuisly myself, there'll no doubt be a better re-issue i futre. |

Hi!
I heard too that the first part of the double feature is missing a couple of seconds. I heard about a scene where that guy sits in the little trainstation or whatever that is and gets killed by the riders. supposably there is a scene where blood runs down a telephone cord. but if that's true i have no idea! The second part is supposed to be uncut. But these movies are relatively unbloody anyways but still classics! cu Fredson |

"Tombs" is the full uncut version - my fave of the series.
"Return" is a cut down version, different to the German version (I think its the German version), which contains up to 8m extra footage, inc. more of the sacrifice (gthe UK release was the same as AB, but this scene was cut further still). Also, the hunch back guy sacrifices a woman later in the film to the Templars, so in the alternate/uncut version he's not so innocent. The mayor's death is also more explicit and so too some other gore scenes. I think Midnight Movies listed a detailed account of all these cuts. You may wish to check "Video Watchdog" and I think Darkside did an article on it in its "Choice Cuts" section. By the way, when will "Horror of the Zombies" and the excellent "Night of the Seagulls" get DVD treatment!!! |

I don't see it in any of the online stores, and since I'm from Europe, is there any chance someone could pick me this dvd?
If anyone is willing to do that, please e-mail me, so we can arrange things: jc.bastos@mail.telepac.pt |

I too live in Europe and would really appriciate it if some nice soul could buy me copies of the Blind Dead films and Alice, Sweet Alice at that cheap price. My e-mail is hell_homie@hotmail.com. Remember, you must support us poor Anchor Bay-deals lacking europeans.
