Brazil (1985) Criterion edition

I'm going to finally buy this $35 dvd . I have always found it to be one of the biggest films ever made. I think it's important not just as a film, but as a production as well. Your reaction to Brazil will likely be passionate. I heard Ben Affleck talk in the Tonite Show, saying that he saw an uncensored version of Brazil "not the 142 mins version" in a New York movie theater 2 years ago. I would like to get a longer version of this movie if it exists at all.

Know whats funny? I've had this 3-disc set for ages now and STILL havent watched it. I've seen a little of the film and it looked pretty good. I always forget to watch it, maybe this thread will help remind me.

I got my set used for 10 bucks! Some dumbass put the single disc price on the box and since it got sent over from another branch the manager at the store couldn't change it. I had to buy it for that and was damn glad I did. Brazil is great.

I got mine around the time of it's release and eventhough I paid a bit more than you guys have, I continute to be very pleased with it. I still haven't gotten around to the documentary maybe one day... but I still treasure this box set. Brazil is one of the few movies that I will watch repeadedly through out the year. I know it's been said a million times about other releases, but this box set belongs in every movie phile's collection.

This set is a bargain at any price! Not only a fantastic movie, but one of the most intense looks at the pre and post production of a film EVER! If you don't understand the power of editing in filmmaking, sit right down because disc 3 WILL BE YOUR TEACHER!!!

disc 3 is the studio version with the happy ending in it... so the whole 90 minute version is an extra

This is certainly one of the best sets (if not the best) that Criterion has released. I can't believe dolemite got it for $10, that is just insane.
