i heard the director was part of a panel of hollywood directors that are against violence in films (makes you wonder why he decided to direct this movie), so making a film with the pg-13 rating would not be that surprising.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre which is being re-made.

If this is true, then it is total fucking Bullshit and not one fan/person should go see it. Then I guess they would use that to tell us there is no market for Horror in the theater.

We are fucked if we go and fucked if we don't.

Oh Fuck this sucks.!!!

I agree. No one should go see this, if this film is made.

Tell friends n0t to see, and horror fans SHOULD NOT see it. It's dumb to remake this film. I could list a billion other reasons not to see it, but just REMAKING this film SHOULD be enough. I'm telling everyone, including NON-HORROR fans, not to see this film. And if they must, then buy a ticket to some other movie and then go to that theater.

Before everyone gets his/her panties in a bunch, remember that ratings are not given out until AFTER the film is completed.

(of course, feel free to flame away at the insipid idea of remaking Texas Chainsaw Massacre)

When the movie is completed, and the people involved make cuts to earn a PG-13 rating, then ya got a valid complaint.

True, but have no doubts that both the studio and director have a specific rating goal in mind. If they're shooting for a PG-13, they won't bother shooting scenes they know will get it an R rating. I think that is where the complaint - a legitimate one if it's true - is coming from.

LAME. I'll give this flick a chance, maybe on video. It just sounds so ludicrous to remake this movie. Why doesnt Hollywood just suck more ass and remake all the classics, like Dawn of the Dead. Oh, wait.........

I just know that everyone is going to say home and then Hollywood will think that there is no market for cool Horror films, no realizing that the fans just think a PG-13 remake of TCM is lame lame lame.

Damn.

This just makes me wish again that there were none such thing as the MPAA. It does make sense from an economic standpoint, since a PG-13 rating will attract much more viewers. This is going to be a film marketed for the younger generation that were not fortunate enough to see the first film, and keeping it PG-13 will maximize the audience.

Hollywood has become so greedy that they are frequently ready to botch ambitious and controversial films in order to get the ratings they want, and it is sickening.

I'll still be there opening night, but my excitement has been severly dampened.

the movie got a an R rating and it wasnt all the gory in the first place..and that was rated R awhile ago. i have a feeling the movie will be shit if its pg-13..seeing as how the MPAA are strict now..bastards. to get the PG-13 rating the movie wont be called Texas chainsaw massacre anymore....they changed it to the Texas Chainsaw Tea Party.
