Wow! The Trailer looks very good! I can't hardly wait to see this one.
De Palma's new thriller FEMME FATALE starring Rebecca Romijin-Stamos opens November 8 from Warner Bros.

Excellent news. It's been a fair while since I watched a De Palma film (I missed Mission To Mars completely....).
Should be a good 'un! |

Err, the film is not that good. Saw it at Cannes and, to me at least, seemed very poor. It's the same case with SNAKE EYES: Great camerawork, great editing, great way to say a story but no story - good looking but empty. At least that is my opinion.

I saw a French trailer for this months ago. Looked like RR had a full nude scene in it (the under water bit).
Which, if this were the case, would make it a work of cinematic genius.

Saw it at the Toronto Film fest. It's a lot of fun. As the other poster above noted, it does fall into the category of SNAKE EYES and a few other De Palma efforts which open big, but then never really amount to much.
This one is cool because of the sexy females and the humor. It's big entertainment and everyone looks to be having a great time. Argento might not be happy to see that DePalma rips off a shot from TENEBRE for the second time. |

I love a lot of De Palma's work and hopefully this one will be allong the lines of Sisters and Dressed to Kill, or at least as good as Body Double.
I wonder why he made Mission to Mars. What was he thinking? |

I'm really looking forward to seeing this film. I love Brian De Palma's films, one of my favorite directors of all time, he is a brilliant director. FEMME FATALE sounds like Brian De Palma is back in top form, some of his classic Horror/Thrillers DRESSED TO KILL, THE FURY, and BODY DOUBLE, and this film brings to mind some of his best work in film.

I don't understand why so many people bash DePalma for "ripping off" Hitchcock, Argento, etc. We live in a post-modernist time, where everything is taken in quotation marks and wink-wink-nudge-nudge humor. Carpenter lifts shots from Howard Hawks, Tarantino lifts from countless films, and Kevin Smith owes more than his fair share of filmmaking to John Hughes. Everyone is influenced by others, so why fault directors for actually acknowledging these influences by including them as homages in their films?

Pretty film...in more ways than one!
Saw this the other day - I really loved the shots and setups that DePalma has concocted here, BUT storywise, it just didn't make it for me - I had hopes for this too. But I don't see it getting ranked up there with "Blowout", "Sisters", or "Dressed To Kill".
