Can anybody confirm if these are the same extras found on the previously released R1 DVD's? |

I should say that the news was broken at a Swedish DVD news-site, www.dvdforum.nu, so all credit should go to them. The news seem to pertain to the whole of Europe though so don't worry. I'm also aware of that the Dracula DVD seem to be missing the Spanish version that was available on its American counterpart.

That is to say don't you Europeans and owners of region-free players worry, judging by the original article Universal seems to be releasing them in more European countries than Sweden. There, now I'm done.

Wow, I'm going for a record here. Anyway just dropped in to say that the box-set is going to cost about $70 here in Sweden. Let me just say that this is the fucking greatest news I've heard all year. Now I can get them all without having to neglect my social life completely. However it is confirmed by Universal that Dracula will miss the Spanish version. Well, you can't have everyting but for that price I'm willing to look past this flaw.

Tomorrow is the 23rd and I haven't read anything about this release. I just checked Bensonsworld in the UK and their list of 9/23 releases does not include anything about these Universal films either as a boxset or individually. Anyone know what is up with this?

I also checked Blackstar in the UK and they have nothing for this either for release on 9/23. A search on their site for "The Invisible Man" yielded only the VHS tape. Something tells me this was probably more rumor then anything.

I dont know about the UK, but I know the set hits Denmark and Sweden on the 23rd October (10/23) - so the date mentioned must be a mistake.
According to this source the UK-release might be 10/14 http://www2.r2-dvd.org/Rumours.jsp They are definitely coming (See screenshots of menus) |

Is this the same as the coffin-shaped box set being released in Brazil? There's a copy of it floating around on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1563855740 Is this related to the European release? |

Well again I scoured both the Bensonsworld and Blackstar UK sites straight through until December and I found no mention of the Universal films as I was hoping to pre-order them. Does anyone know of any RELIABLE retailers where these can be preordered? That Brazilian "coffin" boxset does look excellent though! Thanks.

Check out photo of the box from amazon.de - retailers should be given the info in a weeks time or so in the UK.

My friend works at Universal records in Hollywood and he went to the studio store the other day. Guess what? They've got all the OOP Monster Collection disc for sale at around $20 a piece. I may need to have him get me a few.

Well, Bensonsworld is now taking pre-orders for the R2 Universal Monsters films. They have a release date of 10/14 and are running GBP15.99 each. Not sure what the price of the boxset is though. Anyway, I bit the bullet and pre-ordered three titles from Bensonsworld. I ordered "The Invisible Man", "Bride Of Frankenstein" and "The Wolf Man". It came to GBP47.97 but as usual, free shipping from Bensonsworld. After these three, I'll check the finances and see about ordering some more.
