Thumbs up Squirm to finally hit DVD in 2003!

The excellent killer worm film, SQUIRM is finally coming to DVD in 2003! I love this film, and am glad to hear this! I got this off of another DVD site:

----------------------------------------------------

I received a call from Jeff Lieberman this evening, giving me the ok to tell everyone that his classic killer worm film, Squirm is coming to DVD sometime next year.

We can expect a new anamorphic transfer of the R- rated cut from an original CRI! As for extras -- expect a commentary with Jeff, trailers, and a few other surprises. The disc will be part of the Midnite movies series, but will be released on its own with a retail of $14.95.

Jeff is seemed really happy that MGM is giving this classic the respect it deserves. He said "Two down, Two to go!" I really excited about this one, as it's the film that got me hooked on horror and exploitation films.

-----------------------------------------------------

MGM comes through for us horror fans again!

Woo hoo I love squirm sure it's cheesy but I love those backwoods sleazy types of movies. The effects are pretty cool also.

I would even love an MST3K dvd with the uncut movie on the flip side.

I hope the DVD will have the Drew Struzan poster art as the cover. I think that's one awesome poster.

It'd be nice if MGM put the MST3K thing on there, even though that'd be a bit degrading to the film.

Blue Sunshine Plot

Blue Sunshine involves High school kids who all tripped on LSD(Blue Sunshine) and become killers later in life. Synapse is also releasing it with a CD soundtrack.

I got the dvd yesterday and watched it twice (with commentary and without). The picture is fantastic and the sound is good. I really liked the commentary. Lieberman points out that Kim Basinger, Sylvester Stallone and Martin Sheen all were considered for roles in the movie I'm glad he didn't pick them or the movie probably would have sucked. I've always loved this movie ever since I first saw it at the drivein back in the 70s.
