Although we all have the horror genre as a shared love, I was wondering "What are your favourite 'sub-divisions' of this?" If pushed for an answer, I guess my favourite type of horror film would the "Dario Argento/Italian horror movie". It's a difficult choice, though. I really like zombie movies, maniac on the loose movies and supernatural flicks like The Omen and The Exorcist. Something which tends to be forgotten about on this forum is the Manga horror genre. Anyone favour this style of over-the-top shocks and spills? Lastly, what about Japan Shock movies? I find them okay on occasion but I don't think I could stomach a night's viewing of back-to-back Guts of a Virgin/Guinea Pig/Naked Blood style-movies!

Zombies. Definitely zombies.

My favorite horror sub-genres are slashers, zombies, gore fests, and horror comedies.

1. Vampires
2. Werewolves 3. Zombies I really like the Subspecies series, though Part 4 kinda sucked. Kudos to Full Moon for producing such a great trilogy. ------------------ David W. Anderson - dave@horrordvds.com Webmaster - www.horrordvds.com |

Kinda like Vdlman and CTyner, but in slightly different order and with a clear-cut fave: slashers by far (especially the really good and really bad ones) then gorefests, zombies and (spoof/B-grade) comedies.
Though sometimes it depends on the title: Dawn of the Dead is an all-time favorite, for instance, but I'm not as much of a zombie fan as many others. |

For me its Slashers by a long shot, then horror comedies, supernatural and alien films.

Looks like Slashers win the day, then. Thanks for the feedback, guys.
