Post Horror in 2001

Will be much better than this uneven year. The two that I'm most looking forward to are JASON X & HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES but their will also be new films from JACKSON(FELLOWSHIP OF THE RINGS), ARGENTO(I CAN'T SLEEP),ROMERO(BRUISER),CARPENTER(GHOSTS OF MARS),YUZNA(FAUST),GORDON(DAGON).Next year is gonna kick ass.

I'm not building my hopes up just in case the films don't live up to expectations. The jury is definitely out on the next Jason film...it's going to be either great or completely pants! I don't think there's middle ground with this sort of movie. After viewing Phenomena and hearing the comments about Phantom of the Opera, I can't help but feel that Argento is "doing a Carpenter" and that his best work is behind him. Still, I may be pleasantly surprised. For me, the best movies are often those where your expectations are lowest - Pitch Black is a great example of this.

2001 looks like it'll be a great year for horror! Have faith, brothers. I'm still waiting for The Convent, Ed Gein, and Ricky 6 to come out.

I saw "The Convent" at the Florida Film Festival this year, and let me tell you it was by far one the most kick ass horror/comedies I have ever seen! It beat the shit out of so many "spoofs" that have came out recently. It was like Sam Raimi was back in swing, but more contemporary. You must see this film!
