I thought you guys were talking about the 1972 film CHILDS PLAY with James MAson, Robert Preston and Beau Bridges, which is a very chilling and good thriller! Wish paramount releases it on even VHS, as it never came out on video!

Yeah, I liked the first - "terror incarnate" Brad Dourif was in it. I mean, there were some cutesy aspects I didn't like of the story, but the overall concept of a parent not believing the child was well done.

Bride of Chucky - that was pretty damn funny. Especially the puppet sex scene...

Hated it I've always had a hard time with "evil doll" movies (Child's Play, Puppet Master, etc) I did like the part in CP1 where the little kid tells his mom "Chucky said she was a bitch and got what she deserved." that was cool. Bride of Chucky was pretty great, since it didn't take itself seriously.

Jeff - those sort of touches were what I liked about it - the kid coming out with statements like that, and the mother reacting to the child saying that, like wondering why he would have said it, and where he would have heard stuff like that from. And of course not believing that his doll told him to say it...

Glad to see there are others who liked this one. There's nothing special about the DVD. It's full screen with no extras. But still worth the rental!

Post Childs Play, the original

I watched this last night for the second time ever. Seen it in the theatres years ago.

I loved this movie. Great story and suspense. To bad all the sequels sucked ass.

But I was amused by Bride of Chucky.

I'm I the only one around here who thinks the original is a good film?

I've not seen Child's Play 3 but I actually like this horror series. I wish the studio would release decent versions of the first three movies, I'd certainly add them to my collection.

Yeah, I liked the first one. If MGM would release a decent SE of it, I would be all over it.
The sequels were decent, but nothing to shout about. Bride of Chucky was a breath of fresh air to the stale series.
