Backstory: Halloween

As noted in Entertainment Weekly:

Quote:
10/26 - Backstory: Halloween

What did the cutting-room floor of this slasher flick look like? See deleted scenes and hear gore master John Carpenter's and ex-Voicestream vixen Jaime Lee Curtis' reflections.

[AMC, 10-11p.m.]
I wander what all is going to be on this? Hopefully, it is pretty good!

Cool! I love AMC's Backstory series.

Maybe they will talk about the 5 dozen versions of Halloween that have had dvd releases

If there are deleted scenes from Halloween, then why have they not been on any of the 5 dozen dvd releases?
They can't be talking about the TV stuff, cuz that was filmed long after the cutting room.
WTF
Can somebody tape this for me? I don't get that channel and would love to see this. I can either tape something for you and trade (no macro-vision on my dvd player), or cover the cost of a tape and postage.
Let me know either here or at bigdaddyhorse420@yahoo.com
Thanks,
Dave

Bigdaddyhorse, usually in the instance of things being left on the cutting room floor, the scenes in question might be snippets of frames or seconds trimmed off scenes, or scenes that just didn't work. Maybe all takes of one scene were bad, and the scene wasn't necessary, so it was cut entirely. Also, there might be alternate takes and angles. Take just about any script and compare it with the theatrical or director's cut release, and you'll see small scenes and excerpts of dialogue that didn't make it in.

I liked the Backstory they did on Predator, so I'll for sure give this one a watch. Are they showing the film after it too? Not that any of us should care, since we have the disc, but still...

I'm looking forward to AMC's Backstory of HALLOWEEN, I love the film and it will be great to see what AMC has in store for this episode.

I believe that AMC will be showing HALLOWEEN 1 & 2, and John Carpenter will be hosting some Horror Films this October as well, so AMC has some good stuff coming up.

DefJeff, AMC usually plays MA rated films, will almost all violence and language in tact. I think, however they edit out nudity and the words shit and fuck. I'm not quite sure about nudity though. Shit, I wish I had AMC here at Temple.

I've seen quite a few films on AMC where violence was cut and cut pretty bad. Keep your fingers crossed is all I can say.

You guys don't forget that this is coming on. I set up my Tivo to record it. It is followed by Halloween 2, 3, 4, and 5. Then they repeat the whole thing again.

Halloween special on AMC

It's a good documentary, hope it's on ABs DVD next year. It's on later today and probably many times this week.
