You beat me to the punch. I was reading my Entertainment Weekly, and they advertised it. I am taping it and putting it on vcd. I am going to watch that Barker film on Scifi instead

Got it! I am going to watch this tonight. I saw a commercial for it and it looked great.

The version for Halloween 2 that AMC is showing is the TV cut. It has extra scenes and an alternate ending gor those interested.

I'm watching it now. I don't know if it just started or it's ending. I think it's the latter

Fuck, I was right.

I taped it... It's on again at 6:00am Central/ 7:00am Eastern for you insomniac night owls (and early birds) out there.

It was pretty interesting, though I don't really know what is that new on there. I remember them saying Christopher Lee passed on one of the roles and said it was the biggest mistake of his career.

AMC has regular commercial intervals now as well as the films being cut.

I was disappointed with the Backstory. Almost everything covered was gone over in the Halloween Unmasked documentary on the 2-disc LE of Halloween, released in 1999. No new scenes or photographs were shown, although some on-screen footage was.

I'd much rather see a Backstory on the other installments of Halloween, esp 2 and 4

I'd like to see a Backstory on Friday the 13th (or the entire series in a two hour special); especially since Paramount doesn't seem to want to give us any extras.

But that's a whole 'nother topic...

I found the Backstory on Halloween to be fine....although there was really nothing new for those who have consumed a steady diet of Criterion commentaries and dvd featurettes. One particular note of interest though was when executive producer Moustapha "Look in my pupils and you will see dollar signs" Akkad revealed that he will only make Halloween sequels up to 22 films! I kept waiting for Moustapha to crack a smile....chuckle....or something to let us know that he was obviously joking.......and I'm still waiting..............

Seeing some pics of Jamie Lee from Backstory, didn't know she was a heavy smoker.

Two things stick out from that show.

Donald Pleasence's reaction to Carpenter's direction of Michael seeing his sister commiting the sexual act.

Shatner's reaction that he was the success of the movie.

I liked John Carpenter's hair back in the late 70's.
