Unhappy Blackest Heart Media closes its doors

I've been wanting to order from this place for years, I finally go to make one, and they shut their doors. It's a shame. Anyone know of any similar sites? Anyone have stories from this site or others?

This is probably a result of the dvd frenzy. Since many of the titles offered by companies like these are being released on dvd, they are no longer public domain. Therefore, it would be illegal to continue selling them.

That sucks!! I met one of their artists at a Fango con in Orlando, since he lived there, and I got him to sign a copy of the Zombie graphic novel. I have been meaning to pick up the rest, like the Beyond one, and City of the Living Dead, since that's what really got me into Fulci films. They do a good job with them.

Haha.... public domain (wink wink, nudge nudge).

It was always illegal to sell the vast majority (99%) of this stuff. But, like you mentioned, the advent of DVD has took a chunk out of their pocket. Why the hell pay 15-20$US for a low quality bootleg when you can have the same thing on DVD for an equal or lower price?

Thats a shame to hear. Glad to see Rotten Cotton is still around though. I've got one of their Dawn of the Dead shirts.

Blackest Heart Media was a nice site that had some cool items to check out. To bad they couldn't hang around anymore. Rotten Cotten on the other hand has some killer shirt designs. I just wish they'd use more colors in their prints...(no biggie). I wonder when HorrorDVDs will be getting their very own official t-shirt design?...?? (wink...wink)

If you really want to find rare movies, places like Video Junkies, Video Search of Miami, and Luminous still carry them.

I bought Dark Side's Blood and Black Lace book from BH, and it's really a shame to see them go. Besides, their site always had that dark as hell sense of humor.

(tips glass to Blackest Heart) Salude!

I now notice that Video Junkie is going out of business.

Any connection? Strange, as one would think that their business might pick up the slack left by BH's absence.

Great pity about Blackest Heart - I've got loads of their stuff - cool T shirts & signed graphic novels!
They were cool!
