Question on "Reanimator"

Ok just rewatched "Reanimator" with a bud - and one thing was troubling me and I think it bothered me before - of course I may be just hallucinating (normal), but in the "head" scene isn't the "tongue action" shown more - it seems on my DVD - the original Elite release - that it cuts away too soon. I seem to remember seeing this on video and this scene was more graphic - can anyone confirm?

I've been a rabid Re-Animator fan for a while now and I dont ever remember hearing of extra footage for that scene, nor have I ever seen said footage. If it does exist, that sure would be sweet, but as I've always said, I love every frame of this movie.

I don't think he is saying it is an extra scene. I think Joel is trying to find out if his disc has trimmed the scene in any way. I'll have to check it out later today. I don't remember the scene being any different, but I wasn't really watching that close when I popped in the ME.

Yeah actually when I first got the DVD I thought there was more to it as well, but I had only previously seen the unrated VHS that I had, so it's the same cut. I think this is like the "I remember gore in TCM!" fallacies that some have. Oh well, it's still a damn fine film nonetheless.
