Haha. Well, according to lddb, Boggy Creek II was released on LD back in the 80s. I think Elite actually released it on DVD, right?

There was a small period of time where AB would release the DVD and Elite would release the LD. That was kind of cool.

Yeah, ELITE put out a nice version of "Boggy Creek II" on DVD a few years back.

I saw the first one, never saw the second...but I found it in on LD in pristine condition for $2.50 in a record store...couldn't pass it up!

To answer the question, though, near everything in the late 80s through mid 90s made it onto laser. There are always exceptions, especially in the horror/home video market, one notable being Waxwork II - never had a laser release here or in Japan.

That's a great flick! Good cast, too.

Yeah, me too. This is a great flick/doc, I remember when it was in theaters, it came out around Halloween of '82 and it was only in a few theaters. I wanted to see it so bad, but it wasn't playing anywhere near my home...and when your 9 years old at that time, it's hard to convince your mother to take you 25 miles out the way to see a comedy-documentary about bad sci-fi flicks (I've already worn my mother out with repeated viewings of "Star Wars" with all the re-releases). My wish would come true when The Movie Channel aired it a year later.

I've owned a nice VHS of it over the years, but the Laserdisc takes the cake! And to top it off, the sleeve and disc are both in pristine/mint shape! A rare find. I remember back in the early 90's when LD's were at its height, I worked at Suncoast and "It Came from Hollywood" was hard to find even then! I ordered it from a company called Ingram and it was on back order forever...never got it.

P.S. - Off topic - I do have to give props to my mother because at that time, October '82, Larry Cohen's "Q" was released and she took me to see that. At 9 years of age, I sat and watched "Q" on the big screen. She was always good that way...never gave me crap about watching R-rated fare, as long as the theater was close-by! Gotta love hippies!

Two disc version or one?
(Back then, Criterion would release a bare bones movie-only edition, and a feature laden special edition. Since the movie only edition cost $50, and the special edition was usually over $100, it kind of made sense. If $50 for a bare bones disc could be described as "making sense")

Snagged Jurassic Park, and Texas Chainsaw 2 at Rasputin's for a dollar each

They had a Pink Flamingos criterion but it was like $15 (at least I think it was a criterion).
