Camp Motion Pictures goes old school VHS in new collection!

"Alternative Cinema‘s ’80s nostalgia imprint Camp Motion Pictures is getting ready to go really old-school on us by dropping a five film collection of four of their greatest hits plus a new feature on VHS — big box style!

Camp Motion Pictures, the home entertainment company specializing in 80’s and 80’s-style DIY cinema, unleashes a terrifyingly cool micro-budget cinema collection of five feature films in an exclusive VHS Collector’s Package that Joe Ziemba of BleedingSkull.com calls “A brain-baking vortex of D.I.Y. gore, suburban angst, and trash-gore exuberance!”

Eye-catching authentically ‘80s VHS poster illustration by noted graphic artist Vince Evans and “Big Box” design contains the never-before-released 1989 feature, The Basement, on VHS and DVD along with SOV cult cinema favorites Video Violence 1 and 2, Captives, and Cannibal Campout on DVD.

Timothy O’Rawe’s The Basement (1989) is an anthology shot on Super 8 and fully restored by director of photography Michael Raso in 2010."

I would love to check out The Basement and Captives. But I already own their DVDs of Cannibal Campout and the Video Violence double feature. I hope they consider releasing them separately.

My thoughts exactly. I'd love to check those out, but I already own the others.

Perhaps if the reviews are promising and the set doesn't cost that much...

Pretty awesome that they're releasing this stuff. I already own Cannibal Campout, Video Violence 1 & 2, Killing Spree, and the god awful Woodchipper Massacre but I'm always keeping an eye out for what new releases they have. Too bad this is a collection of mainly stuff that's already been released, but it's better than not releasing the other material at all.

I do, because I still own some VHS, that are currently not on DVD, and I don't know if they ever will be.

It's kinda cool they quoted my review of Video Violence in the trailer for the collection! Nice!

If anyone wants to check out what the set looks like (I forgot to take a pic of the DVD included, but it's just the same as the VHS art in a keepcase), I snapped some pictures. They're kinda shitty, but I'm a guy, I don't have a camera.

It's just too cool. Red VHS tape!

Hah, you're right, it kind of does. Since I knew it was red, it looked perfectly red to me until you said that. I mostly just snapped the pics to show how authentic it looks and how it doesn't look out of place beside real big box tapes. It's weird to see such box in such great condition, though, an odd observation that crossed my mind while checking it out.

Video Violence & Video Violence 2 justify the majority of the asking price alone. Who knows about the "new" film, but the VHS presentation is badass. Consider the other two bonuses.
