    Excellent news!

I also have a DVD-R of this and am looking forward to replacing it.

Incidently, the DVD-R I have also contains the Thriller TV episode "The Hollow Watcher", which is also about a murdered man who comes back as a scarecrow to wreck revenge and stars Warren Oats. I'd definitely love to have a legit DVD/Blu-ray release of Karloff's Thriller series as well.

I'd like to see other TV movies get released such as Midnight Offerings, The UFO Incident, The Savage Bees, Terror Out of the Sky, Vacation In Hell, Sarah T., and Killer Bees with Gloria Swanson as a lady who controls bees. I haven't seen these in over 20 years.

Along with - Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, The Intruder Within, This House Possessed, Bad Ronald, Trapped, Death Moon, I Desire, Vampire, Dead of Night, Trilogy of Terror 2, The Last Dinosaur, The Stranger Within, The Bermuda Depths, The World Beyond (aka The Mud Monster),etc., etc. . These all need a dvd release. Oh, I just bought a copy of Terror Out of the Sky from Deep Discount DVD, and it is a legit release. Not the greatest looking, but not as bad as some releases.

I'd like to add Don't Go to Sleep and Annihilator to the TV movie wish list. I saw these back when they first aired and they creeped the hell out of my kid mind.

I had never heard of this movie before reading about it here. Found it the other day and gave it a viewing. I thought it was excellent. I agree with all comments thats it one of the best made for tv horror movies ever. Great stuff.

  6. Bug Warner Bros. about Don't. I was told they own the rights.

This is great news! I recorded this from television when I was a kid (unfortunately in SLP mode) and my tape is about dead. I had been putting off buying a bootleg in hopes of an official release so I'm very glad I waited.

Is this supposed to be released by Image Entertainment? I've emailed them several times, asking if they still have plans to release it. I've never received a reply of any kind. The title isn't even listed on their website as 'coming soon.'

Again, if a film is not made available to the public and is foolishly being "kept" from those that are willing to pay money for it, BOOTLEG AWAY. I will NOT hesitate to download a movie like Curtains or Dark Night of the Scarecrow if they aren't made readily available and THAT'S THAT.

    Fuck the moral dilemma.

That said, as soon as they ARE available on DVD or Blu-Ray, I pick them up instantly. Regardless of what hippies and do-gooders may think, I'm not stealing a goddamn thing.

After several attempts to contact Image Entertainment about this release, I finally heard back from them. Here is the entire response I received:

"I don’t see that title scheduled to release from us on our master form."

    Nice, huh?

Does anyone have any information about the status of this release?

I noticed that Horror Hounds had an advertisement for a screening back in March for the new HD remastered version and it also said in widescreen. Knowing this was made for tv, I hope they didn't crop it's original format to make it widescreen because it's a beautifully shot movie and I'd hate to miss even a small piece of it. However, if it was filmed in wide aspect and cropped for tv then I am super excited to see the new screen detail. Hopefully they will include both versions on the new dvd if that's the case.

Marc Morris recently stated on his Cult Movies forum that the release had been cancelled, so I wouldn't look for this one anytime soon.
