Has anyone watched the trailer yet for this if so what are your thoughts (Trailer included) I though it looked OK but then my mind turned to the walking dead and now I'm wondering will this end up being the same, minimal zombie action, maximum day time soap style drama!
Thanks for the heads up, hots4. I hadn't heard of this but will definitely give it a try! It looks like it's taking the zombie thing way too lightly to go all daytime soap the way Walking Dead did and it certainly can't be worse than Z Nation. I have stuck with the Walking Dead for over 10 long years now, don't know why, and can't wait for it to finish up so I can be done with it. This might be a refreshing change!
Well, if they actually focus on zombie mayhem, then I might give it a try. But if it starts to focus on the characters instead, and their soap opera problems, then I'm out.
We have had a steady stream of zombie shows and movies since 2005. Nearly 20 years. It’s about time that this trend dies.
Well I didn't expect this to look amusing. That's nice as some zombie shows take themselves too seriously (walking dead). Not to say I don't like a serious take but it's good to mix it up. I don't want zombie movies/shows to die, I just want them to be good.
I agree with Zombie Dude. Wanting the zombie movie/show trend to die is like wanting horror movies to die just because there have been some shitty ones made. The trends I'd like to see die include avocado toast, pink Himalayan salt, and Real Housewife shows.
I thought this was the Snyder prequel to the movie. I guess we are getting two zombie TV series. That's funny. I never had avocado toast or pink Himalayan salt. And I only watch the Real Housewife fights for laughs.
Not really. I just think that it is played out. There’s nothing left to do with zombies at this point. I simply wish some other monster would grab a hold of pop culture for a change.
I wish we could get zombie movies like Fulci's City of the Living Dead and The Beyond instead. Not just the typical, zombies have taken over the world stuff, cause of a virus. But more with a supernatural spookier theme. Something that breaks it out of the tired Romero/Walking Dead mold.
Snyder did that with Army of the Dead and most people here seemed to hate it. I thought it was a pretty cool mix up on the genre and pretty decent all round.
It's kind of crazy that you mentioned Fulci's City of the Living Dead. I had never seen it and just started watching it last night! It is completely bonkers and loads of fun! I would LOVE a TV show like this or Nightmare City complete with a wonky Stelvio Cipriani score!
Yeah there's barely any gothic type horrors in general these days. I'd totally be up for bringing some of that back to the zombie genre.
I watched some of the trailer for a foreign movie called The Sadness. I think that's zombies. I thought it was some romantic thing until things got crazy. That's when I stopped watching the trailer and put it on my list.
Well, this was fun. Old-school and hilarious zombie mayhem. Great practical gore FX and make-up. Glad it's not another serious drama show. I'll check out the next couple of episodes, and hope it continues to be fun.
Terrible acting. Weak storyline. And yet I'm still enjoying it. I think I have always enjoyed silly and campy zombie action. Probably why I love ROTLD2 so much. The effects are decent and it's not taking itself too seriously. It's a shame it's called Day Of The Dead because that is a knock against it given it will be compared to Romero's masterpiece. Unlikely we see a season two but I'm sticking around for season one.
Looks interesting. Is it available for streaming anywhere? I did a quick search and didn't see any news of a DVD or Blu ray release.
No clue. The October month went by too fast this year and I probably watched the least amount of movies ever. Still a few more days. I'll search and see if I can find this one even though I don't think it was high on my list.
