In Australia we had yet another version on DVD recently.
It had the cut scenes like the harbour cops, different music but get this less gore,,,,including the cutting of the exploding head scene in the opening scene!!! Go figure.
Extended cut, seems the most complete out of the three.
Extended cut. The euro cut felt like a different movie when i first watched it. You can definately see it's influence on the euro ripoffs that came after. However, all 3 are great! I'm just glad to have copies of all of them rather than hearing about them and only having one version.
extended cut is my favorite but remember it is not the most complete cut the ultimate cut runs 156 minutes and is only german language i have been wanting to see if i could find this version in english language it is combined euro and extended cut all together also has the famous arrow through the head zombie kill scene as shown in the 4th disc of the ultimate edition dvd box set i have this version on vhs but again in german language only...
The German Cut sounds awesome. Loved that arrow through the head shot, surprised no cut included it out of the 3 included, but it is nice to see it in the "making of" extras. So the German cut sound pretty cool. :fire:
whew, that was a long ass sentence
I agree..the added character definition was good.I was disappointed in the Argento cut..as much as i love Goblin's score it was overwhelming.
I prefer the theatrical cut. George knew what he was doing.
I love the butchered dock scene.
Thank you for saving me some typing.
I prefer the theatrical cut because it has all of the music cues used correctly (such as when zombie Flyboy emerges from the elevator for the 1st time). The DC has more story and gore, which is usually a big selling point for me, but not enough for me to watch it that often. The Euro cut annoys me because music plays over EVERY goddamn scene.
well as long as you are watching the movie I could give a shit less which cut you like.
If I was forced to pick one I would have to say the extended would be my fav out of the bunch.
They're like three different movies, so it's not really the same movie.
I prefer the extended cut as well. I rewatched the theatrical cut last year and was not happy to see lots of my favoriters scenes missing (from the extended cut).
I was just saying that as long as your a fan of the movie it shouldn't matter what version you like.
Like I said, they're edited and changed enough to make each version like a different movie, but to each his own.
