Is this up on Amazon yet? I might have to cancel my UK blu order.
Give me more Subspecies and throw in a remastered Castle Freak while your at it Full Moon.
I have the Full Moon blu-ray of the first Puppet Master, and while it looks adequate, the quality is still not so hot. I haven't seen the Arrow UK disc yet, but supposedly it is leaps and bounds ahead in quality.
I'd say keep the pre-order, and grab II and III from Full Moon.
From Full Moon & Charles Band via a Facebook response!:
"The new Puppet Master I Blu-Ray has NEW features! New Commentary Track, New Intro, and new Extras"
It's official; sell your old Blu-ray, folks!
Hopefully these don't ROT, like the old Puppet Master Blu-ray did.
I'll bet the UK Blu-ray will still be superior to what FM releases over here.
DVD 3-pack pre-order up!:
I also asked Charles Band about if the new releases will be disc rot free. Still waiting for response.
I wouldn't expect a reply. They never replied to anyone via Facebook or emails when asked about the previous Blu-ray rotting problem.
Going to order that PM 3 DVD set soon, especially for the remastered editions of 2 & 3.
Even sweeter is PM 3 is going to have a commentary track. By far my favorite Full Moon and PM film.
The UK blu is from 88 Films not Arrow
May just keep the pre-order then
Amazon now has the 3-pack of Puppet Master Blu-rays up for pre-order at $27.99: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008NNSCJ2/
The 2nd and 3rd films are also up for pre-orders.
Thanks for the heads-up -- the pricing is low enough to bite, and it looks like they're doing separate issues for those who don't feel like upgrading from the old blu. Looks like they're reissuing the DVDs, too:
Puppet Master 2:
Puppet Master 3:
Puppet Master Trilogy:
Yup, but I really have no choice there, since my old Puppet Master Blu-ray has rotted and will no longer even play in any player.
It's worth it for the new features though. Hopefully we get lossless audio with these now, but I wouldn't bet on it.
My procrastination actually paid off for once! I hadn't even heard about the "rot" issue; that's pretty screwed up -- especially considering this new disc apparently has additional extras? Some things never change.
I wonder if they'll be doing the same thing with the SUBSPECIES series?
88 Films also has listings up on Amazon for parts 2 and 3 of Puppet Master. I've got those on order. They're a little more pricey but I'm assuming I wont have to worry about rot. Plus it's likely they'll have one or two UK exclusives.
Plus, with the prices on Amazon vs the ones at Full Moon, you can't go wrong with Amazon!
Definitely. With shipping included at Full Moon, we're talking a $20+ savings at Amazon on the Blu-ray set.
Another Puppet Master re-release? Sigh.
Why won't Charles release these...
Is the NEW PUPPET MASTER DVD (first flick) gonna be available separate or in the set only?
ELIMINATORS is MGM owned. Can't see the second photo.
"MANDROID"!?!? Amazing!!!
I went ahead and ordered the blu ray trilogy via the link provided above - it says 3 discs - but it does not mention the trilogy anywhere - so I hope I ordered the right thing - I assume just a misprint by Amazon?
