It's a Halloween movie outside of the Zombie-verse. I thought those days were over. I'm there opening weekend for sure.

I read somewhere (here or elsewhere) that Curtis was quoted as saying the reason she did this one was because it ignore all the sequels. Funny, she said the same thing about H20 back in the day (which ignored everything after Part 2). Whatever, Jamie. You did it for the paycheck. I'm cool with it but at least admit it like Carpenter usually does.

Very excited. I don't care what the mask looks like to be honest, especially in stills....

We got a new Halloween movie coming to theaters. I fail in finding anything at all to complain about. (Not saying anyone here is complaining)

I'll be there opening weekend......Can't fucking wait

We also have Hellfest coming out, so we'll have two theatrical slasher movie offerings for the Halloween season. CANNOT WAIT!

Although I guess we did last year too with Jigsaw and Happy Death Day.

I suspect the fact that it was originally a mask of William Shatner makes it something trickier to get through Legal. He's neither someone you can either cheaply buy off or simply ignore because he's too little to do anything about it (which in 1978 he was). So I'm sure Legal doesn't even want to broach the subject with Shatner (for fear of him coming back down on the original), so they just said "make it different."

I do like the new "gritty" mask better than the H20 one. It's effective - as long as the person playing him doesn't shamble around like an old man...

Looks like his mask isn't weathered in this new image. I really like this pic.

Can't have a teaser trailer without a ... teaser of the teaser. Man that music still gets me.

Some of today's teasers have actual footage from the movie.

And Laurie's still singing that damn song... "I wish I had you all alone..."

I'll definitely end up seeing this in the theater, which is REALLY rare for me. I probably average 2 theatrical movies a year. That said, they sure managed to cram a lot of stupidity into a sub-3-minute trailer. So this one discounts even Halloween II? This series isn't exactly characterized by its slavish devotion to continuity, but that seems like a questionable decision.
So even though Myers murdered only 3 people, and he's NOT Laurie's brother, she's spent the past 40 years obsessing over him? That's bad enough, but making her a gun-toting badass is even worse than JC's beer-influenced decision to make Laurie and Michael siblings.
It'll be nice to see Myers back on the big screen minus Zombie's taint, but this is going to be a profoundly stupid movie. Hopefully it's at least fun-bad.

Agree, but I've never given up hoping for better. Based on the trailer, I don't think this is it. I hoped JC's return meant something more reflective and suspenseful. This looks like the birth of Michael the action hero.

I'm impressed much of the trailer showed outdoors terror during the day. I think that's a bold move, instead of setting everything at night.

I'm excited. I just hope it doesn't get bogged down in as much set-up as the trailer does. Documentary crew, Michael escapes, gas station, etc, I don't care. Eats up over half the trailer. I just want Laurie's story and to see Michael terrorize suburbia.

I have my expectations in check. It looks like it could be fun, but the opening 45 seconds or so is so over the top that I feel the cringe could be real with this one.

Still there opening weekend but i wasn't overly impressed. It's borrowing too much from the original.
