Halloween 2018 reboot coming!

That would not surprise me.

 

Rewatch the trailer, and imagine everything she says spoken instead by Loomis.

 

I did notice that and really liked the nod. It made it feel more "right" as a Halloween film.

 

I love the fact that Nick Castle is back as The Shape. I think they got the mask look right finally as well.

 

I'm hoping this does very well and we get one more Englund/Langenkamp Elm Street film and one more Hodder F13 film. All three could benefit from a Netflix type series afterwards with different actors.

 

What guarantee do we/you have this won't be rated PG-13????

Well Langenkamp is dead in the Elm St world and we were lucky to have her back in New Nightmare. I can't see them going the route of the comics where her soul was trapped or resided in the dream world. I feel like another remake is probably a more plausible scenario seeing as Englund has pretty much retired as Freddy anyway.

I don't really want a TV show for either franchise either personally. I'd prefer them sticking to films.

 

I wouldn’t even care. With exception of the brief nudity the original didn’t warrant an “R” rating.

 

I’m in the minority, but... screw Hodder. His films were the worst in the franchise. All of them were jokes.

 

Yeah but I do love me that iconic Rated R logo though.

 

This one is a definite pass.

But in all seriousness, why?

 

So was Laurie (in more than one incarnation) in the Halloween world as well. I'd be down for a continuation of the original Nightmare with Nancy vs. Freddy.

 

Part VII is one of my favorites of the series, even with all the MPAA censorship. I thought his Jason was great in that. Everything else...yeah.

 

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them all. It’s just that I think that Hodder is highly overrated, particularly when he only came into the series when it basically went DTV. Yeah, I know, I know, they all had theatrical releases, just none after Part 6 played in my area. I saw Part 8 in a theater, but 45 minutes away with less than 10 people in attendance. It only lasted a week. I drove to New York State from NH to see Jason X opening weekend, it was that sparsely distributed around here. Part VII and JGTH I had to see on VHS.

Now that I think of it, I don’t remember Part 6 playing around here, either.

 

I honestly didn't even think of that but that's likely because Elm St has kept it's continuity unlike Halloween. I think Nancy had a good send-off in part 3. The Wes Craven entries are pretty much the highlights of the series anyway.

 

Is it fair to say (going only on the trailer) that Danny McBride has surprised some people? Me included. Will have to see the actual film to get a complete judgement of course.
