Not sure what you are referring to. Lindsay & Tommy, what about them? They ran away from the house(instructed by Laurie), which Loomis saw and they movie ends minutes after that. It's a totally different scenario.
I have to believe they cut a bunch of scenes featuring the cowboy guy. He's introduced in a way that suggests he's going to be important, then he only appears in a couple inconsequential scenes. I wonder how long the first cut of this movie might have been. There's so much plot that you have to wonder if it was SUBSTANTIALLY longer pre-release. That might account for some of the choppiness a lot of us perceive.
I finally got around to seeing this today at our local IMAX theatre. I enjoyed it quite a bit - there were a couple parts I wasn't wild about (one which included the Dr) but other than that it was fun and well made. I don't want to post spoilers so Ill just say there is someone that makes a cameo I totally missed until I saw the end credits as well as something from Halloween 3. So looking forward to seeing it again. One dumb question on the title though - if this ignores the other movies and is supposed to be a direct sequel to the original Halloween why does it have the exact same name as the movie it is a sequel to- simply Halloween?
Imho, they (the new creators of the film) didn't have the guts to call it Halloween II or Halloween (insert whatever here). They also went with the original name because it has built in recognition and a tie in with holiday. While hoping to grab ill informed movie goers(beyond the informed) because it was the only horror movie out there in October. Regardless, not everyone that went to this film comes on forums like this or knows about the franchise like you or me. They were probably clueless on the chronology and how this new film was a sequel while ignoring, like you said, all the other films.
Not sure if your into Steelbooks but Best Buy will have one out and it looks really nice, the extras are what Im really looking forward to over the Steelbook if they are good. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/hallow...y-only--best-buy-2018/6314996.p?skuId=6314996
Anyone grabbing this disc tomorrow/this week? The best buy steel book looks pretty sweet, just not sure it's worth the extra cash. Probably the same disc as the blu/dvd combo? I also don't need the 4K disc.....
I'm planning to get it this week. Steelbook is the same disc. I'm going for the regular edition. I'm not a big fan of steelbooks to begin with, but something about that artwork is incredibly off-putting. I think it's the font.
Sacrilege! I just received the regular 4K version in the mail. I'll watch the film for the first time in a few hours.
My local Best Buy didn't have the steelbook in stock so I just scooped up the blu/dvd combo instead. Can't wait to revisit.
I pre-ordered the steelbook last night and picked it up today. As far as I can tell, they're sold out all across Long Island. I won't watch it until October, so if the value goes up by then I'll sell it and buy the standard Blu-ray.
Well, I watched it. I'm supposed to forget Halloween II (1981) for this dogshit? Nope. Rob Zombie's films are superior imo, and I am not fond of them.
Wow, I'm surprised to hear you didn't like it. I thought it was quite good, especially the end. Imo I find the original H2 feels a lot like a TV movie. I don't mind them ignoring it for this movie.
I wasn’t impressed with it in the theater, but I wouldn’t go that far. I’ll give it another shot, but I can wait a few months for it to reach $13 or less. Heck I can probably wait until next October and find it used for $7.
Holy crap, did anyone else have trouble finding this in stores? Target and Best Buy were completely sold out. I thought Wal-Mart was too, as there were none on the new release endcap, but I found a cardboard display in the back with a couple left.
My first impression was that the dialogue is cringeworthy, entering Star Wars prequel territory. The scenes with Michael were fine, as was the cinematography. The soundtrack is underwhelming. Everyone is poorly written and the doctor tops Busta Rhymes as the most dreadful character in the entire series. This is the Suicide Squad of horror films.
I enjoyed the film with the exception of the twist regarding the doctor. That said, I'll grab the 4k/blu this weekend.
