All this talk about her bad acting has me so confused. I really like her character and think she plays her great. Her sassy attitude comes across natural to me.

EXACTLY!!!! Because all normal fathers make breakfast in front of their teenage daughters with their penises hanging out.

I too was hoping those kids would get it. Especially after seeing the lead up to that scene on the swings. At least he got one of them.

I thought it was obvious that they were of the other persuasion. I don't know how it would be in the 80s or 90s. They were always in jokes back then. I'm struggling to think of a scene in a horror movie from the 80s or 90s with similar characters right now. Actually, I only remember this scene from Men at Work.

Watched the Extended Cut last night. It's not just the original ending that extends the movie, there are a few additional scenes throughout. Notably, they re-do the famous hedge scene from the original during the 1978 flashback.

Also, the deleted scenes contain the Nick Castle cameo that was cut from the movie. Like in the previous movie, he only did one shot as Michael. When the couple is flying the drone in their house, as it flies into the bathroom, there's a POV from the drone's camera that reveals Michael hiding in the bathroom.

I liked it more on the second viewing, but mainly because I wasn't expecting it to be good this time around. It's still a mess.

Some peeps on Blu-ray.com were discussing what's been added and here's the list:

1 - Stalking Lonnie from the bush in the flashback
2 - Karen, in shock, looking for Ray in the morgue
3 - additional (first) shot of Tivoli arriving at the hospital… very good POV shot
4 - Slightly extended Big John death
5 - Alternate take of Frank’s repeated line, “It’s mine.” In the theatrical, the same shot is used twice.
6 - Extra shot or two of the mob looking at Tivoli’s body
7 - Several additional mob murders
    8 - Full ending.

    Someone else also added:
Also Michael strikes the firefighter with the halligan bar in the basement once more, Michael stabs Tommy with a broken sharp end of the baseball bat, and Michael stabs Karen 6 more times in the extended cut

Looking forward to grabbing this on 4k. I need to just make sure our Aussie version is the extended cut as the marketing for it is a bit wishy-washy.

Another thing I'll mention, I have to appreciate that not only did they release a novelization (I won't be buying it, but it's the thought that counts) but also gave the movie it's own '80s throwback ballad which plays over the end credits.

Sort of harks back to the MTV era where movies had their own songs ala "Dream Warriors" by Dokken, "Pet Sematary" by The Ramones, "Cry Little Sister" from The Lost Boys, "He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask) by Alice Cooper, etc.

Is there an obvious way to get from the extended edition to the theatrical cut? I’m watching the blu ray now and can’t tell which one I’m watching. I don’t think its any different.

Oh jesus christ. Nevermind. I don’t know why it didn’t give me the option the first time around. It just started up.

    LOL :p

I was actually looking for the trailer on Youtube. But it's all "reaction/review" videos of people that saw it. Then there tons of "fan made" trailers that trick people thinking it's the real thing.

So I figure I want to inform everyone on the news at least. Sorry. I'm sure it will be available soon.
