i am a long time lurker, extremely infrequent poster...taking this opportunity to ask a question (esp. to canadian board members!)...has anyone recently purchased the canadian alliance double feature of the theatrical cuts of Rob Zombie's Halloween remakes from amazon.ca? i placed an order a few months ago and i'm not seeing any movement...worried that it's out of print and my ocd is driving me nuts that i won't have those versions after the blu ray box arrives...thanx for any info in advance!
Just wondering if anyone had any more info on who will be at the D.D. signing event later this month. The D.D. website is pretty poor and looks like it was designed in 2001, but they seem to omit important info like this.
$94.99 at amazon.ca. Way better price than the US site.
i wonder how the pre-orders for this are doing? why does it keep dropping back down on the canadian site?
Have to admit, I was hoping for a review soon (before it ships).
That's 94.99 Canadian. It's $86.34 when converted to U.S. currency. I emailed Amazon to see if they'll price match and sure enough, they did!
damn, i wonder if amazon.ca will do the opposite? there are so many better deals on .com, it's frustrating. if .ca were willing to match the conversion, that would be amazing!
They said they were doing it as a one time courtesy for me since their policy states that don't match their international sites. Others have tried on blu-ray.com and have had varying results (price is matched, $10 off, free 2 day shipping or nothing at all). With my gift certificate and credit for trading in the other Halloween blu-ray's, this sucker is costing me less than $10 now.
Supposedly reviewers are starting to receive it, however Shout Factory is only sending the discs for Halloween: Curse Of Michael Myers Producer's Cut and the bonus disc to be reviewed.
^ Speaking of which, here's a review of the Producer's Cut disc:
Very cool. Thanks for that.
wow, only saw this once in the theater and I was done with Halloween movies at the time, so I barley remember any of it, so I will have to maybe give this another chance and see what everyones been bragging about this producers cut..
Oh my God I cannot wait!!!
Review of bonus disc. Apparently there's a noticeable drop in quality with the TV scenes in the Halloween TV cut. Damn.
That's funny, I heard someone mention they read one that said the drop in quality isn't that noticeable.
He also says like 2 sentences later "Casual people will probably not even notice the quality change." So like, is it that noticeable or isn't it?
Yea that doesn't sound like very solid info.
I can't imagine it being that jarring. It's SD sure but at least the quality of those scenes aren't terrible like My Bloody Valentine or Silent Night, Deadly Night. I'm sure it's probably not glaring.
