Finally found one copy last night.
If anyone needs a copy I picked up a few extras when I was home in Texas. $8 shipped. Send me a message.
You know what I always found funny in this film? In the opening scene where Bernadette is walking and trips over Winston's cord and he's barking at her, the principal waited a LONG ASS time to tell Winston to stop. It's like she had it out for this chick or something.
I dunno, the way that particular sequence is edited makes the whole thing seem odd and out-of-place.
the blue case this is in seems to be where they got their savings - it is the flimsiest and least sturdy packaging since the old cardboard trays dvds were rolled out in.
Sony uses these same cases on their Blu-ray releases now. Most other major studios use the eco cases with the cut-outs.
I pick it up at the Legends Wal-Mart in Kansas City, KS. Still 5 more left..
Anyone in Canada find any of these yet? My walmart had a few of these including Hostel 1,2 and Puppet Masters/Deep Rising but no luck finding this.
yo, i hate those cases with the cut outs. so cheap.. dvds were doing that too.. cheap cheap cheap....
Totally missed this...that's awesome. I've got a quote on the Blu-ray for THE PROWLER too, but it's just attributed it to "Horror Digital". Pretty cool to see your name on the back of studio disc, and for a film from my favorite sub-genre. Now...to go about acquiring one of those discs!
So do any of these other double features sets have any of their DVD extras, or are they all barebones?
I believe they are all barebones. I know for certain the Hostel/Hostel II release is.
Yep, All extra free!!!
But for $5
Actually, besides the Hostel and Stranger sets, all the others seem to have the trailers. We used to call that barebones though, so I guess we still should. Although doesn't Hostel 1 have the alternate ending at least? You lose tons of features on that set, only trailers on the Stranger set as the dvds never had shit to begin with.
For the good stuff, I finally got around to watching Birthday last night. Very impressive for such a cheap disc to look so good. It looks better than many catalog releases that cost 3-5X! Great job whoever did the transfer for this one. I had forgot about that opening scene, very strange how it plays. That kind of shit only works in the movies, anyone in real life could've seen the fucking dog!:lol::lol:
I have one last copy from my store in hand in anyone wants it.
They finally had this at my local Wal-Mart. I nabbed a copy.
I checked there back when news first broke and they didn't have it. I don't go in there very often, but whenever I do, it seems like they never have what I'm looking for. So I was very pleasantly surprised this time.
I have officially cleared my store out, all copies spoken for. I could go check the other store, they never have anything but have to have something someday, or at least I keep telling myself that. I'll do it for you fuckers though!
So many boners for this release doesn't take much to get you folks aroused.
In yer mouf?
I'll check my store again at some point in case folks are still looking.
Wow, the other Wally had some, 8 in fact, but I'll only go back for an emergency or some cash. First off, it's 10 miles away but takes 20-30 minutes to get there (and all roads are 45mph or higher, but full of retards all times of day and lights you couldn't hit green if you controlled them). Then they don't have anything else. No $7.88 dump bin, no $6 rack, no cheap rack, and only half the standard rack most stores have. They have everything on dvd, but very few bd's at all. Add in the worst parking lot I've ever seen and I'll be happy to never go back. Fuck Saline Wal-Mart!:fuck::fuck::fuck:
 Thanks again BDH.
Birthday has a really amazing transfer, wish it included the trailer. Look at the motorcyle race scene to see how great the image is..the dvd had too many white specs throughout, there seems to be alot less on the blu ray. and sharper and colors pop too
