So I'm totally new on this site (way cool forum by the way) but I'm far from new to horror movies and like all things related.
For about 20 years I've been collecting theatrical one sheets (posters) and got turned on to the world of limited edition art prints a couple of years ago.
Since so many of the prints I've collected are horror movie related I was wondering if any of you guys are aware of some of the stuff coming out from artists like Tyler Stout, Alex Pardee, Daniel Danger, Ken Taylor, and many others.
A lot of the horror movie prints are commissioned for screenings at the amazing Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Austin, TX and are often considerably cooler than their movie studio created counterparts.
These screen prints are released at damn near random times to a pretty rabid base of fans and tend to sell out very quickly. Sites like OMGPosters and Expressobeans are where we usually find out about drops.

Here's a couple of my favorites I've got framed on my walls:

    The Thing by Tyler Stout

Night of the Creeps by Jon Smith

    Basket Case by Alex Pardee

A Nightmare on Elm Street by Methane Studios

    Monster Squad by Tyler Stout

    Alien by Ken Taylor

And so on and so on. There's a lot of really cool horror movie art getting made right now and I just wanted to know if you guys are as stoked about it as I am and if not, why not???

I think I saw a Black Christmas one that was really cool. It was also on a site pertaining to the Alama Drafthouse commissioned art work. The ones you have are very remarkable as standalone art, let alone a reimaging. Congrats on a slick collection and thanks for the links.

If I could get through the bad world economy, surely this would be an avenue I would add to the numerous things I collect. Unfortunately, Canada is way too close to the US and I have been affected economically by what is going on. So, I'll have to wait a couple of more years.

I don't recall seeing these pop up yet at the annual Festival of Fear here in Toronto which also helps my wallet. I cannot see myself resisting to these if I were to come face to face with them.

    And welcome to the site!

Safe to say, if prints like these were offered at a good price at a horror convention, I'd go home broke.

Yeah these prints don't make it to conventions often. They tend to stay in the print collectors community and don't venture too far out from there.
When they're released the prices are usually VERY reasonable for hand screen printed limited run artwork ($25-$45) but once they sell out their "value" skyrockets. I bought my Thing print for $30 less than 2 years ago. Last one I saw on eBay sold for around $650. Absurd for sure but maybe my stupid print obsession will put my kid into summer camp or something :)

    Newest horror prints snagged:

    The Wolfman by Daniel Danger

House of the Devil by Silent Giants

This thread is probably only of use to about 1% of the community here but I'll post any horror drops I come across here in case anyone wants to get in on 'em.

That would be great, actually. Please do. I was really close to getting the Black Christmas one. So I am sure I will give in soon enough.

    Cool.
Yeah James Davis did a great job on that Black Christmas print. I had that one for a while but ended up selling it (and a few others) to raise money for Tyler Stout's Big Trouble In Little China poster. :glasses:

These are super-cool and great artwork, keep posting em. If I can't ever have the prints, I'll take scans.

    The Shining by Jeff Kleinsmith

So not totally horror related but today in LA an entire batch of SUPER limited Inglourious Basterds prints are being released. Each signed by Tarantino and the artist. Here's a couple of the coolest pieces:

    Alex Pardee

    Patrick Martinez

    Jeremy Fish

Kinda glad I'm not in LA right now, I'd go broke on these!

Not a poster but from a poster artist (David D’ Andrea) and one of the coolest horror movie inspired t-shirts ever!

the middle one with the saluting hands is a fantastic concept, and really great. the other two are nicely done, but the concepts don't do anything for me.

This thread really interests me. I'm kicking myself that I've missed out on some of these fine prints, though! Really struggling to locate on-line sites that stock some of the artwork like Ken Taylor's.

Some of there are truly quite stunning.
I'd love to pick up several and frame them for my theater room but I think my wife would balk at the cost. :(

Yeah given the limited editions of these prints no website stocks them beyond the initial first day of sale (unless for some reason they don't sell out day one).
When new horror / sci-fi related prints drop I'll be sure to post in this thread so you guys can get a crack at em.
Most of the prints I've posted so far pop up on eBay from time to time but they fetch a MUCH higher price than the $30 they cost when released.

Just for fun here's a somewhat older stiched together panoramic of my living room. (most of my prints are in flat files, favorites are framed)

Nice. I'd definitely seen your setup on the Mondo Tees blog.
