I'm getting ready to watch Halloween - The Curse of Michael Myers for the first time and its been mentioned that the Producer's Cut is the best version. A quick search on eBay and Amazon aren't showing a Producer's cut. Anyone have any advice on how to watch/acquire the best version of Halloween 6? Thanks

Screw that. Never pay for a bootleg. Go bittorrent instead.

The bootleg is out there and isn't hard to find on EBay but I'm inclined to just wait it out for a proper release. I might be waiting a very, very long time though.

I thought youtube only allowed for 10 minute videos. Was it in one 90+ minute video and decent quality? If so, do you have a link? I didn't see it when I did a search. Thanks

Is the producer's cut much better then the theatrical? I could barley get through the theatrical.

I think it's better. It has a lot more of the Thorn cult, so if you never did like that concept, you won't like the PC.

I could tell you where to go, but I don't think that kind of talk is allowed here.

Much better, although granted the copy I have I've had for a few years and its really dark and theres a bunch of crap at the bottom of the screen, but if they could clean this up and release it, I'd be all for it. I also wish they'd release Halloween 2 the TV version that had diffrent scenes and others that were moved around.

If Anchor Bay released part 2 we would have seen that years ago. Unforunately that's not the case.

I have the producers cut... It has less gore and more cult plot.
It's not bad, but it's over rated.

I thought I remember reading rumblings of the possibility of the Producer's Cut actually getting an official release?

This was around a year ago. Anyone remember?

I think the odds of an official release of this are getting worse all the time. Farrands himself said that the original film elements are missing, which makes sense. Surely it would have been released amid all the hype surrounding Zombie's remake if the elements were available.

No one has yet mentioned how superior the original soundtrack is. The guitar-driven version of the Carpenter theme doesn't appear anywhere in the Producer's Cut Soundtrack. That was added after the disastrous initial screenings. The Producer's Cut leans very heavily on all of the pieces from Carpenter's original in similar arrangements, which really makes for a better Halloween vibe.

There are also more stalk sequences in the early part of the Producer's Cut. And most important of all, there is MUCH more Donald Pleasence.

It's still not one of the better sequels. But it is better than the theatrical version. And as much as I'm against the whole Thorn concept, I prefer it tremendously to Zombie's re-imagining. It feels more like Halloween to me.

Here's a very in-depth interview with Farrands for those who are interested:

It was in 10 or 11 10 minute parts, but the quality is pretty decent

Unfortunately YouTube pulled it at the start of this year after all the copyright stuff....
