Ummmm, glad I pre-ordered when I did. The price jumped $30 in two days. The pre-order price is now over $70. I got it for $41 total, including shipping.

Yeah, I just pre-ordered it yesterday from Amazon.co.uk and got it locked in at that £32.24 shipped. Sure beats the £56.81 it's at now like you mentioned.

I preordered this months ago. Yes, $41 is an awesome price I think. Plus, snagging the Phantasm US set for $64 today makes me a very happy man.

Catch Me If You Can blu-ray. Took me long enough to add this one to my collection.

I wonder why there was such a big jump in price?

I was so into Tales from the Crypt when I was younger that I actually had a (not proud of it) scheme going with the now-defunct Suncoast Video. I never had HBO, so I was restricted to the edited episodes they showed on FOX. But FOX didn't seem to show certain seasons, so there were tons of episodes I never saw. I even wrote to the station and sweet-talked them into sending me their airing schedule months in advance so I'd know which episodes were coming on, and whether or not I'd have to stay up to record them.

    Anyway, Suncoast...

HBO released episodes on VHS, three on each tape if I remember correctly, and many of those tapes had the episodes that FOX never aired. So I'd buy the tape from Suncoast, go home and dub it, and then return it to a different Suncoast for an even exchange on another TFTC tape I needed. I swear I did this for months and several locations around Philly and NJ. They never caught on. I ended up taping 30 or so episodes for the cost of one tape.

I was an idiot, but a resourceful idiot.

Great job Joker. No wonder they're out of business. :p In all seriousness though, I loved Suncoast. You could always rely on them to have at least one copy of the newest releases no matter how limited. I still have my Limited Anchor Bay 2-Disc Army of Darkness DVD set the day it came out (almost 20 years ago). The Scream blu-ray is vastly superior, but I just can't bring myself to discard it (or any of the other Evil Dead DVD's I have).

Yeah I loved that store too, even just to browse. Too bad they aren't around anymore. But I'm just as upset that regular video rental places are also gone. Granted, RedBox is faster, and for the streaming culture we've become - faster is better. But you can't walk up and down the aisles at a RedBox and look at VHS covers. That's what I really miss about the video stores of my youth.

Suncoast was awesome, always had a great horror selection. But they were expensive as fuck. At least near me they were. There used to be 3-4 different places to score movies at the mall back in that era and the same title was 3-4 bucks more expensive at Suncoast, guaranteed. When you're 13 years old walking around the mall with $14.25 in your pocket, looking to get a new flick to buy and enjoy over the weekend, that was huge.......... Sam Goody or Circuit City was where you could find me. But I do recall getting gift certificates to Suncoast for birthdays or what have you and feeling like a baller walking around that place not even looking at price tags like a pimp. lol

I used to drop tons of money at Suncoast in high school. They usually had any title I was looking for. I remember buying the anchor bay LE Halloween DVD in 1998. Still have it too. I would also hit Circuit City as well and back then Best Buy actually didn't suck either. Those were the days. Now I have to buy everything online...

I really miss browsing video stores. Now the best I can do is check out used shops and those are never as good.

I can literally talk for hours on my video store browsing days. I'd disappear in a Newbury Comics for 2 hours without even blinking. It's a shame. Hopefully one day they'll be back in fashion again. One can hope anyways.

Don't Answer the Phone (VS Blu)

This makes 3 copies. The Scorpion Blu I bought, the 2nd Scorpion Blu that was given to me, now this. Will probably offload the other two.

Code Red is selling these for only $9.99 so they aren't worth much anymore now that VS put out a superior version. Ebay has them for that price as well.
