madhouse ( aka. there was a little girl) and PLEASE make it the totally uncut release they have in the U.K. DVD. Pieces was a close second , but I have the region 2 and wil probably wait for a review or two to see if it is worth the upgrade

I had to go with SWEET SIXTEEN because Dana Kimmell is just such a goofball in it.

Earlier this year, when Silent Scream and Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker seemed slated to be released this year, those would probably share first place as my most anticipated 80's release... The good news is that there's still something to look forward to. :)

The fact that "White Dog" is finally seeing a legitimate release, and that it's not coming from one of the studios that specialize in spewing out cheap exploitation titles, is quite an event.

Pieces. It's badass and I know I can trust Grindhouse to give it the DVD it deserves.

Does anyone know if Scared to Death came out / is still coming out? The only listing on the websites I've checked is for the Region 2 port, which is just a terrible, terrible looking VHS rip.

Update: Nevermind, I found it on Deep Discount. I could've sworn they didn't have it last time I checked.

Yeah, it came out a long time ago actually. Search for "Scared to Death" threads on here and you'll find more info on the old/new DVD's.

Final Exam was definitely my most anticipated release. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. Still have to get The Unseen, though. I've been wanting to see that ever since I read reviews of it on Hysteria-Lives and the Terror Trap.

Code Red still hasn't set a date for that one and there's a good chance we won't see it until '09, at this point.

NIGHTMARE (not the U.K. title NIGHTMARE IN A DAMAGED BRAIN) is having problem for us right now. If the fans didn't demand Romano Scavolini to be on the disc, this turkey would've been out this year. Now I got a 90min interview in Italian language. if any fans out there speaks Italian and willing to help us out and translate this interview for us, then we can move toward 2009 release. If not, this release is frozen. Again, extra is the #1 reason why our releses are delayed.

If I knew Italian, I'd help you out but I don't. That's a shame to hear about the release date but we'll be waiting patiently for the eventual release. Until then, we'll have other great Code Red DVDs to tide us over ... hopefully, The Farmer?

Wow. I didn't realise how great a year for 80s horror this was until now.

I would have chosen Pieces, if it wasn't for the DVD if it already released before...even if it was bad quality.

Hmm, out of those, my list:

    1. Sole Survivor (1983)
    2. Bloody Moon (1981)
    3. Madhouse (1981)
    4. Mausoleum (1983)
    5. Final Exam (1981)

Pieces, Dead Pit, Sweet Sixteen and The Sender are close runner-ups though. :)
