I just received a list of the new Artisan DVDs for September and they have a bunch of cool horror titles coming out. Best of all, they are finally releasing Waxwork and its sequel!!! All of the DVDs have two titles (on 1 disc I assume) and I think they retail for $14.99 each. Here are the titles I remember:

    - Waxwork/Waxwork II
    - Howling V (The Rebirth)/Howling VI (The Freaks)
    - Prom Night III (The Last Kiss)/Prom Night IV (Deliver Us from Evil)
    - Watchers/Watchers II

No specs were included in the ad, but I have a bad feeling they will all be pan-and-scam considering that is what they did with their August releases (Fright Night II, Lair of the White Worm, etc). So Dave I would definitely hold onto that Waxwork laserdisc until we get a firm confirmation.

I was gonna order the Aussie disc tonight. Good thing I didn't!!! Thanx for the heads up! I really hope it's a widescreen release this time. I have yet to see this movie but have heard so many good things about it.

The other August releases will be in full screen!?! Sounds like I'll be saving myself some money, come August.

These had all damn well better be OAR, and WAXWORK, which is one of my absolute favorites, also better be the unrated version!

Cujo, i wouldn't get your hopes up. i bet they'll be P&S/open matte (whatever applies to the films) and probably the R version, with next to zero extras.

personally, i'm interested in that Howling disc. i've always wanted to see 6.

For some of Artisan's August DVDS, the Full Frame Presentation is the way they should be. I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU, and Wes Craven's INVITATION TO HELL were both Made For TV Horror Movies.

One question, is the Artisan DVD of BRIDE OF RE-ANIMATOR going to be the Unrated Version of the film?

Why does this company only release full screen dvds? I thought it showed that rated R movies people prefer widescreen. Maybe we should all email angry letters to the president and demand them include a widescreen version also.

Maybe they'll send you a roll of electric tape to create you own letterbox on the TV screen.

Great news but just like Fright Night 2, which looks amazing in it's original 2.35:1 ratio (I've seen it!), I doubt Artisan will give them the widescreen treatment.

I also sent them an e-mail btw.

Artisan usually comes through. But not all the time. Take SUMMER OF FEAR for example...but the audio is superb!!!

I own Sixth Sense (widescreen) and Blair Witch from Artisan and both are great transfers. WHo knows. They might just come through.... one can hope can't he ?

That doesn't really work well with a full-screen movie on a widescreen TV.
