New Miramax/Dimension Blu-ray Wave from Echo Bridge

I went ahead and pre-ordered Hellraiser: Bloodline. I think I'll wait and see what the reviews say before I purchase any more of these...especially regarding the Halloween sequels vs. the Canadian Blu-ray.

I'm definitely waiting on reviews for these. I might also wait to see if they announce the rest of the franchise(s). I could potentially see them releasing cheaper double-features with the Children Of The Corn and Hellraiser sequels.

You don't have to wait long CPT Hook. According to amazon.com they are releasing double feature blurays on May 15th

It would be nice if Curse of Michael Myers contained the Producer's Cut :)

Does anyone have the Canadian triple pack which also has Resurrection?

I'm fairly certain that all of Echo Bridge's current BD releases are region free. I don't expect that to change unless Miramax and Dimension have specifically requested region coding as part of their licensing agreement.

I have the canadian blu-ray so I'll wait to see about the Halloweens. But I can't wait for the COTCs or the FDTDs to come out.

I have it. I'll definitely wait and see some reviews first before double dipping on those.

Awwwwwesome. I've never seen COTC 5 & 6, so I can't wait to check those out. Too bad 2-4 aren't being packed together like they are on DVD. These pairings might make me check out some of the other sequels I haven't seen, too. I like this strategy. Here's hoping they at least just get the basics right (16x9, original aspect, progressive, 24P).

Just as I feared, it looks like some, if not all of the Echo Bridge Miramax/Dimension BDs are only 2.0

Fuckin' cheap bastards. Just cancelled my orders and will get the Canadian versions of FDTD and the Halloweens.

Same here. I'm glad I grabbed the Alliance Canadian release of From Dusk Till Dawn when I found it at FYE for $8.99 and as much as I absolutely abhor Resurrection with the deepest of passions, I'm going to grab the Canadian Halloween triple pack. The price is worth it for Curse and H2O. I'll be damned if Echo Bridge is getting a dime of my money. I'll just take out Resurrection and put my copy of the H6 Producers cut in its place.

Gonna be kind of hard to do since I believe all three movies are on one disc.

Ugh. :eek2: Yeah, I'm glad that I have the Halloween Canadian triple Blu-ray if the audio is just going to be shitty Dolby 2.0. At least the Canadian Blu-ray offers lossless DTS-HD Master 5.1 on all three films.

Of course, Echo Bridge might not do that on all of the Blu-rays, but I doubt the picture quality will be any better.

Did you have issues with the audio on that Alliance FDTD disc? When I watched mine, it was either crank it so high to hear everything the effects would be painfully loud, or have it reasonable and not be able to hear about half the dialogue. I'm still gonna hold on to it for now, along with the old dvd for extras. Wonder if I could cue up the dvd audio on one player with the video on the BD. Gonne try that next tiem I watch it.

I saw H2O at Best Buy today. Back cover says it's 1.78 when the old dvd is 2.35. If cropped like most cable HD channels, this is unacceptable. Hoping the cover is a misprint, anyone pick it up yet to confirm? Looked for reviews online, but only found links to buy.

I know their The Yards bluray, which is supposed to be 2.35:1, is 1.77:1 so i'm pretty sure it's not a misprint

I remember spotting Hellraiser III airing on Cinemax HD a few months ago (it might have been HBO). I didn't watch it, so I can't comment on quality.

But the Echo Bridge DVD has been confirmed as fullscreen, is it possible for Echo Bridge to get access to the Cinemax source to release a Hellraiser III blu-ray?

Children Of The Corn II was also confirmed as fullscreen, so it is doubtful we will see a blu-ray of that either.
