I'll just have to cancel the SF order, I was waiting for a reason to and now I have one.
The audio was always going to be fine
I think a price adjustment might be in order. Are you listening Shout Factory?
not gonna happen, otherwise people will just cancel their original orders and do new ones at the cheaper price. Besides this new 5000 is for online retailers mostly and they are all well cheaper.
Not to mention that they just sold out so fast on the first 5000 at that price so there is no reason for them to think of dropping it as the market has met the price asked for.
At this given point, I believe anything. I read the audio will not be complete as much the same number of people saying it will.
Okay, cool. I can cancel my SF order and get it cheaper elsewhere. Add to that the fact that 5,000 screaming, crying fans can also get a copy and it sounds like a win-win to me.
If you don't want to pay $80, then don't buy directly from SF, it's just that simple.
if it doesn't happen, it certainly puts the lie to their claims about recouping the high cost of restoration, doesn't it?
twice as many units sold means twice as many paying customers who are helping to shoulder any production costs that might exist.
i'm not holding my breath, though....
Where is Shout getting all these extra copies from? They better not take supplies from retailers that have already sold these.
They're not taking anything away. They've increased the overall limit from 5,000 copies to 10,000 copies.
Thanks I misunderstood the initial post about this
Well this is good new for people who haven't been able to acquire a copy yet. Like other have said, hopefully this means the audio won't have any issues come release as they should have plenty of money to do it right.
If anyone wants a good laugh, go and read the thread over at bluray.com LOL!
It's waaaay too long. What are they complaining about now?
More copies made = more fans getting the best edition of the film. Anyone who is against that is either a scalper or some kind of elitist asshole.
Shout!, Synapse, Twilight Time: Just drop this fake "Limited Edition" nonsense.
Yup I'm good with them printing more.
You won't find me joining the bitchfest at blu-ray dot com, and maybe I'm stupid but I'm letting my Shout order stand since I'm in the low number and poster club. It does feel a little less special now with double the copies, but I never thought I'd see this release, and don't plan to buy extras or ever resell my copy. I do wonder how many of the first 5K went to re-sellers, and how many got cancelled when this news of 10K hit. I have to admit I was stunned the first 5 sold so quick at such a high price point. Even the best offered online price isn't cheap.
I'm glad they're making it more available, but Cliff said in an interview that their deal with Warner Bros, for the theatrical cut, was a 5,000 only pressing. Guess they went back and got a new deal.
yeah, that's exactly what they did. i think they went into the details of it in one of their facebook posts.
i'm certainly curious to see how this all turns out once the release date hits. how many of these pre-orders will end up cancelled? i pre-ordered through amazon.ca, along with the 2-disc edition. one of those is obviously going to be cancelled. which one depends on how low the limited edition price drops. i'm sure i'm not the only one who did that.
