  1. One of the vhs movies I got recently at a flea market for $1 is Appointment With Fear. Some late 80's flick that Moustapha Akkad had something to do with.

Not horror, (although there is a pretty mean slashing scene), but I just got Clash of the Ninjas about a week ago: http://imdb.com/title/tt0301110/

Very entertaining ninja movie with some tremendously bad dubbing, even by bad ninja movie standards. For some reason the non Asian actors are dubbed into English by what sounds like an Asian guy. It also has one of the coolest completely random death scenes ever. Good $4 purchase despite the 13 day(!) shipping time.

Yesterday, I went to a garage sale. Now, I almost never go to garage sales because I rarely find what I want but this time I got lucky. On a table of old VHS tapes, I found (and bought): Amityville II: The Possession, Cat's Eye, Critters, The Dead Zone, Psychomania, Tales From The Crypt, and Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things (the Gorgon Video release in the big-ass clamshell case). I bought them all for a grand total of 3 dollars. Very cool.

The pride of my (albeit small) collection: Headless Eyes! I've been obsessing about this movie today. Anyone know of a torrent I can download it from so I don't have to use the tape so much when I wanna watch it?

Also, what is your favorite of the VHS tapes in your collection?

Lucky you. For some reason our rental stores only had the R-Rated version back in the days. Finally saw The Mutilator in it's unrated glory on DVD a couple of years ago :)

Well I went into an old Mom And Pop Video Store last weekend, not expecting to find much. This Video Store used to be a Great place to find old VHS Tapes, they used to have rows of old VHS and Big Box Stuff, but not so much anymore. Now it's pretty much new rentals and half of it is a Market/Clothes store! Anyway, I went in there and there was this older woman and I told her I was looking for some old VHS Tapes, and she took me over to a hidden corner of the room and pulled back the clothes rack and low and behold, there was a Video Shelf with a some old VHS Tapes! She said this is my secret hiding place! WTF?!

Anyway I ended up picking up:

The Kidnapping Of The President(Big Box Continental VHS Tape!)

    Silk(Big Box Corman VHS Tape!)

FirstStrike(Big Box Film with Stuart Whitman)

    Under The Boardwalk(80'S Comedy)

    Lady Avenger(Southgate)

I got these for only $1.20 each!! Great deal if I do say so myself!! This reminded me of the Great, Fun days of finding an old Video Store that was filled with Rare Treasures only waiting for me to pick them up! It's getting harder to find old Video Stores now a days, but it's a Great feeling when I do find them!

Those big box type Wizard releases are really about all I occasionally look for anymore, aside from a few slapstick 70s and 80s comedies not on DVD. Can't even remember the last one I bought ..HEADLESS EYES and ROCKTOBER BLOOD come to mind, though.

Rocktober Blood wasn't a big box; it was released by Vestron Video. That movie is great! One of my best blind VHS buys.

That's right - doh. I really dig the Sorcery performances in that flick.
