  1. I picked this film up after reading so much positive stuff on it on the web...I heard so many people saying 10 out of 10 and "a perfect movie." While I liked it and thought it was cool - I can't see at all what those people are talking about. I've seen much better.

    I give it a 6. - Just my humble opinion :)

Over at DVDTalk's DDD thread most orders had it, due to the hype.

I gave it a 6. I liked it much better when I first saw it at a theater that played a lot of cult movies. I still enjoyed it, but after viewing it fresh after not seeing it for a few years, I did see a lot of the faults that have already been pointed out.

I give it a 10. It's more of a dark comedy than horror movie. People who don't like it have no taste.

I give it a solid 8. Gnaghi is great, and Anna Falchi as "She" is amazing. OK, Anna Falchi as herself aint too bad either...

Well, then I guess Michele Soavi and I have something in common.

I want to take that comment back. I just watched the Anchor Bay release and, for whatever reason, it really clicked with me this time. The humor, the tone, the acting (Rupert was incredible), and even the ending were all pretty much flawless for me this go around. I was even enjoying things I liked before much, much more. Was I not in the mood for it when I first saw it? Was the version I saw cut up to hell? I have no idea, but it gets a 5/5 from me now.

    6. And that's because of Anne Falchi's massive talents.

The massive talents of the plastic surgeon, anyway....

I gave it a 7. Decent, funny film that I'll probably enjoy watching every couple of years, but it didn't blow me away.

  17. i gave it a very high 9. Not my fav horror flick, but just a flick that works out most emotions in any red-blooded man...sadness, happiness, sexuality, death, confusion, comedy...all rolled into one package.

A true emotional rollercoaster ride of a movie!

It is a shame that Soavi was forced to step away from cinema just as he was earning the reputation as a master in Italian Cinema, which sorely needed someone to transition from Fulci and Argento into the newer generation of filmmakers. It's no surprise the Italian landscape suffered immensely as Soavi retreated to tend to personal issues. Fortunately Dellamorte Dellamore was made before this and gives us film fans a wonderful film to discuss and enjoy.

A remarkable film highlighed by amazing visuals and wonderful acting. I've always thought Everett was underrated. Falchi, while not a great actress, was nice eye candy and did what she was supposed to do. And that ending, some things are better left unsaid.
