That was a great set. Time for an upgrade though ;v)
Who wants to sing the "Happy camper" song to this announcement?
Just read this on Blu-Ray.com...
Unsure?! Are you fucking kidding me? Put the footage back in! I don't have a Facebook account, but I did leave them a message on their Twitter.
Everyone be sure to let them know that you want SC3 uncut! Even if it is Silent Night Deadly Night quality.
I don't understand why this is even a question seeing as how they've been able to seamlessly branch different versions of a movie since DVD. They should just give options to watch it both ways but, if for whatever reason it has to be one or the other, then of course it should be the most complete version, regardless of quality. Maybe I'll email them since I don't have Facebook...
Wait wait wait. Weren't the Anchor Bay DVDs of II and III uncut? I don't remember seeing a jump in quality or anything.
They were the R-rated versions. Some of the deleted/extended footage was in the DVD special features.
"There's no reason to continue to post about this it on our page"
Um. Ok. A bit rude!
this it? who dat?
Scream Factory on their Facebook page.
I asked them on Twitter....
C'mon SF, just doooo itttt.
I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure II is uncut.
Edit: From Sleepwaycampfilms...
So yeah, other than the beheading, not much gore cut.
I'm not interested in having VHS sourced stuff inserted into the film. I have the Anchor Bay DVDs so I couldn't care less if they even make it on Shout Factory's release.
Yeah... I opted to leave that bit out.
Agreed - I have the original on Blu and the original survival kit box set whatever it's called.
I'd be cool with an uncut vhs rip as a bonus feature, but if they can't find any film elements, I don't want them inserting it back into the film. The jumps in quality were already noticable enough on things like the old Wicker-Man extended dvd's. I see going from 1080p to muddy, interlaced vhs footage being extremely distracting.
That´s why they could use seamless branching, then we could choose to watch the movie, with or without, the VHS sourced footage inserted.
Well yeah, but I guess my point was what's the point? I think the film would actually be worse off with it put back in at that quality. At least with the entirety of it at VHS quality there will be consistency in the picture and you won't be pulled out of it and reminded "oh yeah this is uncut footage they put back in that looks and sounds awful compared to the rest of what I'm watching." In the end, though, if enough fans want it and Shout is willing to do it, and they went with seamless branching as I'm sure they would, more power to them. I'll just watch it without it.
Sucks that the film elements seem to be gone forever.
