Just ordered my first Twilight Time. The Dogs of War.
I´m from the good old days of VHS so it doesn´t bugs me to continue to revisit this on DVD until the eventual European release comes along.
More like a third of the price if you wait a few weeks.
Will upgrade for The Blob and Audrey Rose. The Believers...meh!! Sure wish they would release Burnt Offerings instead.
Better get a move-on if you're on the fence about The Blob. Hearing rumblings that it's close to selling out already.
Screw it Ordered the blob
As much as I hate to spend twice as much for a bare bones release - only to be re-released again cheaper down the road, I did like wise.
I also picked up Ginger Snaps SE, Body Bags, Night Of The Demons 2 and Pumpkinhead SE (all on blu-ray) through Screen Archives.
It should be mentioned that the foreign Fright Night releases only have lossy sound, where as the Twilight Time disc has lossless sound.
Not a deal breaker for me!
I mean, for the same picture quality and lossy sound you pay a third of the price.
^ Also worth noting, Twilight Time is supposedly re-releasing Fright Night in a new edition with special features sometime next year. So at this point, it might be worth holding off and seeing what that has to offer.
Apparently no extras at all on the foreign releases either, not even a trailer.
DVDBeaver did a new comparison here: http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film3/blu-ray_reviews55/fright_night_blu-ray.htm
I don't really see too much difference in the picture quality though, except perhaps a little more grain and detail visible on the TT Blu.
ah well.....have the TT of fright night so no problem for me, but Christine, due to horrible circumstances out of my control, I missed out on.
My the blob shipped today, seems like a good review and am looking forward to it.
Well, if they used the same transfer as shown on HDTV, as they did with both Fright Night and Christine, or an even fresher one, then you are in for a treat. the movie looks amazing in high-def!
As I still have my 1080p HDTV rip, I will (as mentioned before) hold out for a EU release, even though it would have been nice to watch those extras.

Mine should be here on Saturday it looks like.
Shipping finally confirmed for me today. I splurged on this order to Canada and have The Blob, The Believers and The Vanishing all coming to me. I should have got Christine, but passed at the time. I do have TT copies of The Blue Lagoon and Body Double and I couldn't be more pleased with both. Love the booklets, too.
I'll definitely get more TT down the road.
