I got these three as well. I'm very happy with them and The Vanishing is such an underrated film.
Few films more annoying than the vanishing remake, Jeff bridges sounds exactly like dr evil from the Austin powers films.
^ Despite the ending, I think the remake is better than the original. Certainly more re-watchable.
Wasn't a huge fan of the original either
Bridges was fantastic in the film. To each his own.
Well although I never took to him, I must admit he seemed much worse when I caught it on tv again after austin powers came out and all i could hear was Dr Evil... he is pretty over the top.
http://bluray.highdefdigest.com/12535/theblob1988.html the blob review
A moment there! This review states that the Blu-ray disc is BD50 while HorrorDVD's review declares it's a BD25. I have an old app in Windows to scan BR's and hasn't been updated but it says 25 I guess.
BD50 or BD25 finally? Maybe you know better...
It's definitely a BD25. Highdefdigest needs to get their shit together.
Question (that I already know the answer to):
Why are people paying premium prices for THE BLOB on eBay? There are currently 28 (twenty-eight!) copies on eBay.
The law of supply and demand would seem to say, with that many copies available, that you should wait out the sellers until prices drop to an amount consistent with 28 copies being available. But no, high bids are over $45 already. Do people just want to throw away money?
I would argue that the supply and demand is kicking in. EBay has millions of users and while there may only be a few hundred who want The Blob, clearly there are more than 28 that want it.
I collect sports cards too and many are numbered to /99 or less and if stuff is overpriced it will STILL sit there forever, even for well known players. Plus, like the Fright Night thing, most people seemed to be buying them to flip them. It's collector's frenzy gone awry.
For the record, I'm not a scalper. I sold my copy of the original Fright Night BD on Amazon for $75. It felt nice to get more than double the price I paid - there was no "guilt" involved - it was business. You have something someone else wants, you sell it - for a sum that you feel is fair. I initially had the BD up for closer to $150 and, naturally, no one bit - but I knew it was too much. After the reissue was announced I slashed the price and made a sale a couple days later. I wasn't greedy - I could've gotten about $100 - but I decided I just wanted to get rid of it and I did - for a fair price. People will pay for something they want if they want it bad enough and it's their prerogative to spend a certain amount on it. Who is anyone to judge or call someone names because they want to make a bit of money? Just sayin'
I just think there are enough collector's/fan's that are unaware of the announcement and/or release of these TT films.
Fully agreed. I question the buyer, not the seller. If there are 28 of something on eBay at any given time, then it's dumb to overpay. But by all means, ebay is for making money. Go forth and make money.
Looking to finally get a copy of The Blob I guess ebay is the best place now to get it
I just sold my copy on ebay 2 weeks ago... ya missed out!
oh well atleast the blob isn't too pricey on ebay like fright night and Notld 90 both of which I proud to own
