    Hi Everyone,

I've been a movie junkie since the age of 7. My whole life I've wanted a movie theater in my house. By movie theater, I don't mean some home theater room with a TV and a couch. I mean a MOVIE THEATER in my house!

I was recently married and my wife and I bought a house. One of the things that sold me on the house was the inclusion of a room that would be great for my movie theater. The only problem was my wife wanted it for a workout room. She gave me a time ultimatum. Finish the theater by a certain date or she was going to take possession of the room.

I was desperate. Sitting at work one day, I had revelation. I was like, my wife and I watch all these home improvement shows, why can't we be on one?

Right then, I applied to two shows on HGTV.com:

    24 Hour Design
    Design on a Dime

A week later 24 Hour Design called and the rest in history. I researched thoroughly and bought all the electronic equipment and they designed the room.

We built the room in 23 HOURS straight! It was insane! It's truly my dream room.

The show is airing Friday May 4 at 9:00pm on HGTV.
The show's called 24 Hour Design.

Check out the show if you get a chance. I figure we all the share the hobby and love of movies and DVDs around here, so you might want to check out a local boy's inspirational story.

    Here's the link:

Let me know what you think!

Note: I added authentic movie theater seats a week after they shot the show. So, you won't see them on the show. I'll post new pics after the airdate.

    Jason

I love that 'design on a dime' show to see what all they can do on a shoe string budget. That's cool you made it on and better yet, I bet the room's awesome.

Never had an interest in these kind of shows, but you are an excellent trader and I'm glad to have had the pleasure of interacting with you. I'll definitely be watching this. Congrats again!

Thanks so much for the congrats, guys.
It's funny, when they were building it, I'm sure they thought I'd be watching some Citizen Kane type sh*t in there.

They don't know me very well do they? So, now I have this amazingly cool theater room playing wall to wall 70's exploitation movies, chased by Italian splatter flicks, with a hint of WIP flicks and 80's American gore and action flicks. It's enough to bring a tear to my eye.

Chuck Norris' roundhouse kicks look even more dazzling on a 100" screen.

I'm lovin every minute of it!
    God Bless America!!!!

You know, in a million years, my mind would have never gone to "apply to a HGTV show and get it done." Good form on your part for thinking outside the box. I have the DVDR set to record it on Friday. Looking forward to it!

Neat! I'll give it a watch. And it's good that you didn't get Design on a Dime, because they suck.

Watching it now and halfway through and it looks like it's gonna be awesome. It's even better knowing what will be watched there. So many people waste great theaters on crap.

Congrats on getting picked and hooked up! A second congrats on the marriage, your wife seems really cool and is quite pretty. Does she watch the WIP flicks with ya?

Now I need to get them to come out to Michigan.:D
