Alright, time to start talking about what's sure to be the greatest film of the last decade. I don't care if Kevin Greutert doesn't want to direct it...he's going to, and he's going to do it well, dammit! We get the third dimension, continuation with the Feast writers, and most recently we're now getting Cary Elwes back. Saw 7 (2010) seems to be shaping up nicely.

For how backwards looking the series has always been since the fourth film, it's always been a big glaring question mark what happened to all that overacting of Dr. Lawrence Gordon after what transpired in the first. Most chalked it up to budget cutting, but now it appears to have been all part of the grand scheme of the writers who've given the film such life through sequels 4-6.

Live by the Tobin...Die by the Tobin.

Having this in 3D is such a desperate cash grab. The series has been tired since part 2, put it to bed already.

Can't wait. Glad Cary Elwes is back. His disappearance since the first film should at least tie things up. I'm quite excited about this news.

Now all we need is the explanation to where the Russian mob guys went after the infamous Pine Barrens episode in The Sopranos.

wow, thats actually a pretty effective illusion of 3D. i had no idea cary elwes was back. but i don't think this is any reason to expect the film will be any better than the last...6. lets not forget gene hackman came back for superman IV...and Cary Elwes, while i like him, is no Gene Hackman.

tell me they're not just going to call this one "Saw 3D" instead of Saw VII. if nothing else, i enjoyed the fact that they were holding on to the roman numerals.

The 3D aspect of any film, except the bygone days, does not attract me in the least. It is Saw, I'll watch it.

You mean, you're not thrilled at all that quick-cutting all sorts of in-your-face this time around?

    Yeah, me neither.

    HAHAHA, yeah.

Hopefully the cineplex will have an alternate cinema (decreasing rapidly) sans the 3D.

I may rather check the cheap theater to avoid all the dark and frustrating images, but I know the wife will want to go regardless.

    Shudder at XD

I will see it flat, too. It'll be my first theatrical SAW experience. Incidentally, the reason I passed on the entire series when they were originally released was because of their advertising. Those posters just don't do the films justice! The foot on display for the first flick - looks like an autopsy shot from SILENCE/LAMBS (which made me think it was a wannabe LAMBS or SE7EN flick) and I recall a character's foot in the film being a tad better pedicured, lolz. The teeth for the 3rd flick - a little too BLAIR WITCH looking and so on.
I'm glad I finally caught up with the intriguing series, however.

I'm not sure how Cary Elwes coming back is a good thing. I know it's been a few years but do you remember his acting in part one?

I haven't seen any after the first but I personally think it is really lame to actually call the movie 'Saw 3D.' It is the last one apparently, why not call it something cool?

I agree that the title "Saw 3D" lacks a little something, but that trailer was great. Looks like he's going to put everyone on the planet in a trap.

Typical Saw "teaser". That being said it is starting to look a little Final Destonation-ish, not a good thing.

THAT being said, one thing you can be sure of about Saw...

    It is what it is.

I have the first 5 and plan on picking up part 6 soon. I've only seen the first two, but I have been slowly catching up and hopefully will finish in time to check this one out in theaters. Horror is the one genre that I get excited about seeing in 3D. Screw the Avatar added dimension crap, I like the cheesy in your face effects with explosions and weapons and gore and body parts flying at the screen!

I might see this in 3D. I just want to see the film because I'm a big fan of the franchise.
