With all this hoopla over FN selling out I hope Lionsgate hops on the bandwagon and reissues a watchable version of FN 2. I have a great-looking widescreen print I got from flesh wound video but a properly mastered Blu-ray would be awesome, even if it's barebones. It has been suggested, I think by Cliff MacMillan of Shout, that Lionsgate's rights to certain titles will expire in a couple of years, though I'm not sure if this one is in that group. I hope there's some truth to that.

FN 2 was from Artesian Entertainment. Did Lionsgate purchased Artesian Entertainment, and they merged together?

Lionsgate bought Artisan Entertainment (which original started out back in the home video days as Family Home Entertainment, or FHE) back in 2003.

Fright Night 2 was initially distributed on VHS by IVE Home Entertainment, later renamed LIVE (not sure what the "L" stands for). They were actually a full-fledged "studio" making mostly DTV movies. They released Terminator 2 to home video. They were later renamed Artisan and were subsequently acquired by Lionsgate. I may be a little rusty on particular details so if anyone has more info feel free to correct me.

Well you're probably not gonna find one since cable does not broadcast in full HD. And since there's no 1080p blu-ray out there to rip (you would probably own the blu-ray anyway if there was one), no 1080p version of FN2 even exists.

I can assure you that a 1080p exists... some very reliable user in this forum have one. Sorry for not telling his name because our conversation was made by PM.

I got the 720P (or there about since it's cropped) copy and the quality is not that great, although I prefer this over not having it in widescreen at all. The one thing I had to do with the version that I downloaded was to demux the AVI and remux it as an MKV because the aspect ratio would not playback right in VLC or my WDTV.

I'll have to look a little harder. The AVI that I got was PAL sourced and had optional german subtitles.

    It´s a different rip...

My MKV has 4.11Gb, English and Turkish audio, and English subs.

Nice. I found one that's 2.8Gb and the quality is significantly better than the previous version I mentioned. Thanks!

well I downloaded the 720p fright night 2 in widescreen ( I know I'm a thief) and used nero11 ( bought and paid for) to burn a bluray of part two with LPCM sound, it looks great to me, not quite up to a real blu-ray but very nice.

Got my TT release of Fright Night ( with magnet) today, gonna have a double feature evening soon with both.!!

Just dropped through the letterbox here in the UK. Relieved it wasn't lost.

Can't wait to watch it!!! :)

....ooh, and I got the magnet. Very close to the bin though - nearly forgot to look!
