I think that's it. At least that's all that the Laserdisc Database lists:

    Document of the Dead
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10388/SFL0001/Document-of-the-Dead:-Special-Edition-(1989)

    Gamera
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/34730/SFL0004/Giant-Monster-Gamera-(1965)

    Dario Argento's World of Horror
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10389/SFL0002/Dario-Argento's-World-of-Horror-(1986)

They DO list a few titles that were apparently announced by Synapse but were later cancelled . . .

    Vampyros Lesbos
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10440/SFL0009/Vampyros-Lesbos-(1970)

    Brain Damage: Special Edition
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10438/SFL0008/Brain-Damage:-Special-Edition-(1988)

    Deadbeat at Dawn
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10439/SFL0010/Deadbeat-at-Dawn:-Special-Edition-(1988)

    Gamera vs Tigra
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10436/SFL0007/Gamera-vs-Zigra-(1971)

    Gamera vs Barugon
    http://www.lddb.com/laserdisc/10402/SFL0003/Gamera-vs-Barugon

    Gamera vs Guillon

Did Synapse have more than one edition/release of these? I assume by your notes they did but can't find any info on this.

We only released one version each of these. After our license expired, Image picked up the titles and released different versions.

Yes, once the LD market went down the toilet and DVD started to take off, we canceled any other LDs we were originally going to do. Unfortunately, we never had DVD rights to the other GAMERA movies, only LD.

Based on numbers we've been hearing on similar Blu-Ray independent product, we aren't going any time soon. The market is just not there yet for us indie folks. It's hard enough, with the bootleggers, downloading/pirating and lackluster economy for us to make money in this business anymore. To spend a lot more money on Blu-Ray, and not get enough sales to justify the expense, is something we aren't going to do. We have to ride out this horrible time and hope that the future is a bit brighter first.

Well, please do your best to ride out this storm. You guys are one of the only companies anymore in my eye (next to Mondo Macabro) that puts out consistently amazing material. Can't afford to see any more good DVD companies go.

All are quality dvd's, and except for Long Weekend, which I found very boring, I love them a lot and would upgrade in a heartbeat if a Blu-ray release became available.

I've gone back and forth about Nailgun Massacre - I love campy but spooky slashers such as Madman, but I dislike strictly incompetent ones such as The Forest.

I appreciate that. It's good to hear. Things like this make it worthwhile to turn on the office lights every weekday and know we're reaching at least a few people, you know! Honestly, my business partner and I have been discussing this industry with a lot of similar labels to us. All of us that are left... we're all hurting badly. I mean, in the last few years, look at how many indie DVD companies have either ceased operations, or just stopped releasing product consistently! Panik House, Casa Negra, BCI Eclipse, No Shame, Subversive, Legend House, Something Weird/Image label, IndieDVD, Industrial, Fantoma, Atopia, Barrel... there's not many of us left, folks.

With stores like CIRCUIT CITY, TOWER, VIRGIN MEGASTORE, FYE, SUNCOAST, MEDIA PLAY, KIM'S UNDERGROUND and even BEST BUY now laying off folks. As well as even BORDERS and BARNES & NOBLE going from being supporters of indies, to pretty much cutting back on buying ANY of our stuff anymore... the future is relatively bleak for the rest of us.

We're going day to day, and we're still acquiring product for release, but we have to take it smart and slow... we just never know what tomorrow will bring.

You guys should cut some deals with Hastings. I work for them...:D

We're not nearly as big as, say, Best Buy or Circuit City but we're still a great store with a much bigger selection. Our store in Spokane alone does very well with horror/science fiction.

Yeah Hastings dude! They usually stock new Synapse releases at the Hastings here.

The store easily has the best selection in town, and they do stock a ton of "Indie" releases that no other stores would dream of putting on their shelves.

I would love to buy almost all the Synapse titles but I can't afford them and I've never seen any used in stores except for "Maniac Cop" and some dude grabbed it before I had the chance. The only one I bought new is "Nail Gun Massacre". I hope they keep putting out quality titles though
